Broxburn were looking to get back on track at the Albyn after 2 league losses in a row to Blackburn United and Linlithgow Rose respectively with Hill Of Beath Hawthorn as visitors.

There were 3 changes in the starting line up R.Nimmo, Downie and Clark replacing Wright, Douglas and G. Donaldson.

Hill of Beath hadn’t been in action since winning 2-1 at Dundonald Bluebell on 3rd December last year.

Conditions were difficult with wind and rain greeting the players. Both teams struggled to string anything together in the opening stages.

In the 5th minute Gillen was fouled by Baur around 22 yards from goal on the right. R.Nimmo took the kick which was dangerous and well punched clear by visiting keeper Hall.

Broxburn continued to make half chances from a long McConnelll throw Brass found Gillen but his shot was high and wide.

Greenhill was booked on the half hour.

In 33 minutes a high ball in from Leishman in the conditions was a tricky one for Blair who kept his eye on the ball and claimed well.

Then in Broxburn’s next attack the best chance of the game Orru again was prominent playing in a great cross from the left Downie then pushed the ball out to R.Nimmo who with the goal at his mercy from the right sliced his shot wide.

The visitors then fashioned their own chance with Payne seemingly set to score B.Donaldson put in a great tackle to prevent what seemed a certain goal.

Right on half time Brass got in the clear on the half way line made good ground before passing to Downie but his shot was blocked and cleared.
