BROXBURN ATH V EAST STIRLINGSHIRE

What a cup tie and the scenes at the third and final whistle were very pleasing to the eye .A great game with both teams giving their all to achieve their passage into the next round draw . Three goals from Alexander Miller the third after East Stirlingshire had got back on level terms through Evan Horne on 45 minutes and Andrew Rodgers on 84 minutes made a dramatic finale to the game .A full match report is on the website under matches courtesy of Kieran Polland who studied media studies at college and is looking to get a move in to sport’s reporting ,we thank him for his report . KEYDRAW RESULT

This week’s keydraw was won by Dickie Henderson c/o The Badger’s Brook who won £50 but failed to pick the right key to open the jackpot box ..Next week’s draw on Sunday the 22nd of September will have a jackpot of £1000 and only 7 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box

BROXBURN ATH V EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY

A good win over Lowland League opposition was  ideal tonic as our depleted squad turned up for the match today . Goals from Scott Richards , Greg Binnie and an own goal  set us up for a third round tie that will be drawn in Dumfries tomorrow afternoon .Edinburgh University did get one back to make it 2-1 almost half way through the second half but I don’t think they will have any complaints about the final result .

KEYDRAW RESULT

David Duff c/o The Greentree won this week’s keydraw collecting £50 but failed to pick the right key to open the jackpot box .Next week’s draw on Sunday the 15th of September will have a jackpot of £950 with 8 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box .

BLACKBURN UTD V BROXBURN ATHLETIC

A narrow but comfortable 3-2 win at Blackburn was a much better overall performance than the previous week with a three goal lead through Craig Scott, Ross Nimmo and Greg Binnie had us very comfortable . Two late goals from the home side made what was a comfortable afternoon a bit nervy we certainly deserved our win . Full report in matches in due course .

BROXBURN ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT 20’s

The Development 20’s had two games last week and had a creditable 2-2 draw away at Kelty Hearts  despite through injury were down to ten men with 20 minutes to go and 9 men with 15 minutes and only lost a equalising goal for the home side in the 7th minute of injury time .Friday night’s game was a bit different at home to Camelon at Clifton Hall .We lost 6-0 to Camelon development 20’s with us losing our centre half at 0-0 for a goal scoring opportunity tackle that saw him see red after 15 minutes making it tough for the tem men . We learn from every game and with no game this week we can regroup at training and get over some of the injuries before the next challenge .

NEW SIGNING UPDATE

Kristopher Goss has at last been cleared by the English  F.A. to play his football in Scotland .Kristopher has moved into the town from the North East of England where he played up front for Washington A.F.C.
