Broxburn Ath v Pumpherston Friendly

A late Kieran Anderson first half goal and two second half late goals from Alexander Miller and Darren Downie gave a young looking Broxburn side a good run out giving players much needed game time and full ninety minutes for some .Pumpherston despite having a player sent off shortly after our opener certainly played their part in the second half and got a consolation goal in injury time to make the score 3-1 to Broxburn

Kelty Tournament Winners

Great weekend for the club getting two great work outs as we up our game for the beginning of the season with this pre season tournament “The Kelty Hearts Tournament “.With a 3-2 win against Sauchie on Saturday followed by a 3-3 draw against the hosts then to go on and win the trophy on penalties was a bonus as again the squad got good game time with the season only two weeks away .We took the lead today after 5 minutes through Zander Murray with Kelty equalising from a free kick from Stephen Husband on the hour mark . We retook the lead a minute later with Zander Murray getting his second goal of the day . Errol Douglas got the hosts back on level terms on 71 minutes . With fourteen minutes left the hosts took the lead for the first time through another identical free kick from his first .Broxburn were not to be out done as we equalised on 82 minutes through a great Craig Scott effort into the top corner . with no further scoring it was to be decided on penalties With Gribben , Downie and Scott scoring before Wallace blasted over ,the big keeper made amends by saving twice in the shoot out before Scott Richards fired home the winning penalty .The cup was presented to the players representative Mark Fountain to cap a good weekend at the office .

New Signing

The club are pleased to announce the signing of Nathan Donnelly-Kay .Nathan played with the Broxburn Athletic Under 19’s last season and had a dual registration and has played a few games last term for us . Nathan is yet another promising young player looking to follow in the steps of others who have made the step up from the juveniles .

Spartans Pre Season

Broxburn succumbed to four second half goals from Spartans after a promising first half . Michael Linton missed a penalty in the half quickly followed by a great save from the hosts keeper when Alexander Miller was through on goals two minutes later .These games are no mark for the season but to get some match fitness in time for the start of the season with our opponents already having played four games at a good level it told in the second half. Lots of positives to take from the game and we move on to training Tuesday and Thursday before next weeks tournament at Kelty .Only players missing today were Kieron Anderson (work) , Darren Gribben (work) , Craig Scott (work ), Craig Purves injured and Chris Townsley holiday .
