Broxburn started very well and early on Cameron Ross showed he was in the mood when getting to the byeline and forcing an early corner . Fraser McLaren made a good run down the right for the hosts but his excellent ball into the danger area found no takers on nine minutes . Liam Peden made a good run into the box that Connor Wallace  saved well before John Grant cleared the danger . On 29 minutes Scott Richards sent in a free kick that caused mayhem in the box before the home defence cleared off the line . The opening goal did come after 31 minutes when ALEXANDER MILLER  got into the box before being brought down and the on form striker made no mistake from the spot . Within three minutes both Richards and Ross saw shots blocked and cleared as Broxburn turned the screw . Miller saw an attempt deflected for a corner on 39 minutes . Cameron Ross , two minutes later , saw a shot well saved from point blank by Daniel Laing in the hosts goal . The first half was running down and Ross saw a shot go just over the bar from a corner . Dunbar could have equalised when a corner into the box was cleared off the line by Donaldson . The last opportunity of the half fell to Scott Richards who was set up by Ross but the big keeper pulled off another save to keep his side in the game .

Early in the second half a ball into the box was cleared off Miller’s head by the defence as the striker was about to steer the ball home . Lloyd Fiddler tried an effort from 30 yards out but went harmlessly over the bar . With 51 minutes on the clock a Richards throw in found Ross who saw an other fine save at the expense of a corner . From the corner GORDON DONALDSON headed the ball past a crowded six yard box into the net .  A Richards free kick into the box was met by Grant Gavin but once more the keeper showed his worth to the home side . This was the procedure for the second half with Ross and Miller finding it difficult to get past Laing . The home side got back into the game on 76 minutes when a ball into the box was bundled over by STEVEN TAIT . . Unfortunately for the goal scorer that was his last contribution to the game when three minutes later he received a second yellow card for a rash tackle on Richards three minutes later  .The game was bit one sided with Laing continuing to defy the Broxburn Strikers . Dunbar could have sent the game into extra time in the last minute when a ball into the box found the visitors defence posted missing and Fraser McLaren had a free header four yards out that he will be disappointed about as it went past the right hand post .

The visitors almost took the lead on 65 minutes when Regan Lumsden saw a close in effort turned behind for a corner by Wallace . At the other end a minute later Kinninmonth finished off a good move by shooting wide of the target .Binnie was stopped in his tracks when through on the keeper by Donaldson a minute later .  The game was swinging back and forward and a Lumsden free kick sailed over the bar a minute later . This was to come back and deny them all three points when a ball into the box was missed by Wallace DANIEL WATT was on hand to rescue a point for his side on 80 minutes   .It was Broxburn who still pressed for the winner with the better opportunities but could not turn chances into goals and the game ended with the points shared . Broxburn came out the traps the second half and in 48 minutes Richards sent a ball out wide to Andrew Gillen who saw his ball into the box was cut out .Craig Scott saw his shot in 53 minutes sail over the bar . The equaliser came on 66 minutes when a long ball sent ALEXANDER MILLER run through and under pressure volleyed the ball home from the edge of the box . After last week’s exploits it was back to league duty and Whitehill were the first to have a crack at goal but Scott Wright fired wildly over the bar after two minutes . Broxburn carved open the visiting defence before a Conor Kelly shot was deflected for a corner .which came to nothing .The game was needing a spark to bring it to life but nothing was happening in the danger area for either side . Twenty minutes in and a throw in on the left saw Gordon Donaldson receive the ball but his effort went over the bar . Half way through the half Ross Nimmo put a teasing ball across the box but there were no takers . Broxburn created a couple of half chances but the visiting defence eventually cleared the danger . The best chance of the game so far cam on 29 minutes when Ross Nimmo put a great ball in from the right which Alexander Miller headed just over the bar . Greg Binnie made a good run into the left hand side of the box before firing just past the right hand post . The goal came in bizarre fashion  on 36 minutes. When Conor Kelly floated a ball into the box it was too near the keeper on the goal line but inexplicitly Youssef Bejaoui  , the big Whitehill Welfare keeper dropped an easy catch and ALEXANDER MILLER was there to prod the ball home from four yards . The only other chance of the half fell to Kelly on 40 minutes after good play but the striker’s effort went over the target .

Whitehill came out the second half in determined mood and early on forced a corner that came to nothing when played into the box . With 50 minutes on the clock Broxburn had a great chance to give themselves a cushion when Nicholas Locke made his way into the box from the right he was bundled to the ground .Alexander Miller who made no mistake from the spot last week stepped up but this time Youssef Bejaoui  made a great save diving to his left to turn the ball over the bar to keep his side in the game . Ryan McCallum should have done better when forcing his way into the box but his effort went wide . Not for the first time in the game on 57 minutes Ross Nimmo put a great ball across the box but found no taker’s . Half way through the half a good ball to Miller from Binnie out on the left and the striker tried to bend the ball from the left into the right hand side of the goal but could not bend the ball enough and it went wide right . Good play by Cameron Ross down the left saw him send a ball across the face of goal it was cleared out to Nicholas Locke who saw his shot from 22 yards out shave the cross bar on the way over . Whitehill created a good opportunity on 73 minutes when Scott Wright fired a shot from the right hand side of the box past the left hand post . Two minutes later a long ball out of defence for the visitors sent Ryan McCallum beyond the home back line ,but the ball was just a bit too hard and Conor Wallace who had come out to the edge of his box gathered the ball just in time . John Grant set Locke up with five minutes remaining but his captain shot over the bar . Ross Nimmo shot over the bar in the last minute while of balance . Three points in the bag against a good side fortunate or not we take them and move on to Dunbar on Tuesday with a 7-30pm kick off
