This was to be a bad day at the Albyn Park for the hosts . In two minutes Kieron Anderson worked his way in from the left and fired a shot over the bar . A couple of minutes later Anderson was free down the right and got to the touch line and put a great ball across the box but was just beyond the home forwards . With seven minutes gone a corner kick was met by Declan O’Kane but his unchallenged header went well over .After ten minutes Kieron Anderson floated a free kick into the box but it went tamely through to the keeper . A minute later the visitors took the lead when a ball broke of the Broxburn defender into the path of SEAN MURPHY who steadied himself and fired home from 25 yards .wallace turned a Conor Thomson free kick round the post two minutes later .On fourteen minutes the score was doubled when EWAN RALTON Got into the box on the left and put the ball past theadvancing keeper from an acute angle . Darren Cole had to go off after only 21 minutes with an injury .With seventeen minutes gone Ralton was sent clear on the right and Connor Wallace came out his box but the forward went past him but put his shot past the near post . On the half hour mark the visitors increased their lead when MATHU KING got down the left and fired home from an angle to beat the keeper . It could have been worse at half time as Declan O’Kane missed another header from a corner with eight minutes of the half remaining .
The second half started with a bit of promise for the home side when McNaughton put SCOTT RICHARDS through and he cooly hit the roof of the net .Anderson put a great ball across the box heading for Ross Nimmo at the back post but the Musselburgh defender just got enough on a header to take it away from the Broxburn player .Ralton created a chance for himself on 58 minutes but Wallace saved easy . An indirect free kick was awarded for a pass back just after the hour mark and Anderson was unlucky to see his strike come off the corner of the right hand post and crossbar away from danger .Musselburgh hit the woodwork themselves on 65 minutes .With seventy minutes gone The visitors got he three goal difference back when a corner from the left went across the box to unmarked Connor Spowart who had time to pick out JOHN McMANUS At the opposite end of the box and he scored freely with his head .Browne made Renton save well from a Richards cross with time running out for the home side With under ten minutes to go the game was put beyond all doubt when Conor Thomson was brought down By the home keeper and duly stepped up to score from the awarded spot kick . Not a good day and major improvement needed for next week’s home Scottish junior cup 1st round match with high flying Glenafton Athletic .

Bonnyrigg took the lead in two minutes when a long bouncing ball was contested for by Darren Cole and WAYNE McINTOSH the Rose player getting the better of the defender and was in on goal and made no mistake from 14 yards out .A minute later broxburn should have been level when Nicholas Locke disposed the defender of the ball 30 yards out and was through one on one with the keeper who pulled of a great save to deny the captain .On 12 minutes Sean Jamieson got his toe to the ball and knock it past the keeper but Craig Purves got back and cleared the ball up the park and away from danger . Zander Miller put a great ball across the hosts box but unfortunately it was just beyond the attacking Nimmo at the back post .Alexander Miller had a double chance thwarted by the keeper on 20 minutes .half way through the half a free kick into the visitors box saw Ruaridah Donaldson with a free header but he headed well over the bar .McIntosh had a couple of opportunities round the half hour mark .Broxburn immediately punished these misses when Alexander Miller was through on goal inside the box when Michael Andrews in the hosts goals came out and brought him down .What happened next baffled most in the crowd as the referee showed a straight red card to the keeper but admitted due to the new rule that if a genuine attempt is made to win the ball it is still a penalty but the offender is shown a yellow not a red .Once all the confusion had settled down CRAIG PURVES kept his cool to score from the spot kick .
Bonnyrigg took the lead on the hour mark when a ball into the middle of the visitors defence broke out right to WAYNE McINTOSH who gave Wallace no chance .A minute later Andrew Kidd saw a free kick go just wide from 30 yards .Nicholas Locke created a chance on his own when getting the ball on the right cutting inside and he saw his shot well saved . Chances went a begging for both sides and Darren Cole made a fantastic last gasp tackle when McIntosh looked certain to get his hat trick .Wallace had a great save from McGachie .Kidd put a great ball into the back post for McGachie but the striker shot over . Bonnyrigg got a third as the visitors got a corner in the last minute and sent everybody into the box including the keeper when the corner broke down the ball was put out to LEWIS TURNER on the half way line and he only had to hit the target of the unguarded goal to seal victory with the last kick of the ball .

Broxburn beat the six goals scored last week in beating The newly promoted champions of the Premier league Jeanfield Swifts 7-3 . Broxburn showed their intent after three minutes when Nicholas locke had a shot saved and as the ball looked to be going in it was cleared off the line by the recovering defender .A minute later a good ball into the box to Scott Richards saw the youngster blast over the bar .On eight minutes Richards sent Ross Nimmo through on goal but the striker’s shot went wide of the far post with Broxburn claiming a deflection which the referee and linesman disagreed on .The opener came on fourteen minutes when a corner was cleared out the box it fell to ROSS NIMMO who steadied himself and fired home through the crowded box to sore . A second followed three minutes later when good play down the right saw Richards pass into the path of NICHOLAS LOCKE who took two steps and fired into the bottom right hand corner .Just before the half hour mark Locke was fouled by the keeper in the box and KIERON ANDERSON scored from the awarded spot kick . With ten minutes of the half remaining Locke made a great run into the box and cut the ball across the six yard box to ALEXANDER MILLER who made no mistake from four yards out .On the stroke of half time an Anderson shot shaved the cross bar .
Jeanfield gave themselves hope two minutes after the restart when DANIEL KELLY shot from twenty yards out and it took a wicked deflection past the helpless Wallace . Four minutes later the four goal difference was restored when Richards was brought down two yards outside the box and central .NICHOLAS LOCKE stepped up and repeated his free kick from last week firing home a shot that left the keeper standing and helpless .This made the visitors make all their changes bringing on three substitutes .It was to no avail as Broxburn increased their lead when a great cross field through ball to Ross Nimmo saw the striker pushed from behind as he got in the box and KIERON ANDERSON scored his second penalty of the day inoff the left hand post . On 75 minutes Nimmo got another great through ball this time from Craig Scott and as the forward cut into the box he saw his shot go just over the bar .Three minutes later the visitors got another one back after Connor Wallace made a good save from Lewis Baker the ball broke to the edge of the box and player manager John Anderson who was fouled by Grant Gavin .Substitute ANTHONY HOLT scored from the spot .Jeanfield were on top as the hosts took their foot of the pedal and they got a third when a Stevie McManus free kick was saved the first to react was JOHN ANDERSON who scored easily . Jeanfield piled on the pressure as Broxburn tried to pick the game back up .With time running out Connor Wallace in the hosts goals had to be at his best with two fantastic saves to keep the visitors at bay .Broxburn then went up the other end in injury time and SCOTT McNaughton scored from a ball into the box after a good move by Nimmo and Alexander Miller .
Three penalties , ten goals and quality football on show what great value for the entry fee bring on more in the coming weeks .

Broxburn comfortably won this match with ease and it could have been more .Carnoustie had the first opportunity after five minutes when Scrimengour headed over from a corner kick .Two minutes later Zander Miller got on the end of a Richards ball into the box but his header went just wide .A minute later Ross Nimmo was clean through but his shot from the edge of the box was easily saved . The opener came in 12 minutes when Nimmo put a great ball through into the path of SCOTT RICHARDS had his first attempt saved but when the ball broke he was first to react to slide the ball into the empty net .Simpson could have got the hosts back in the game when clean through but his shot went wildly over the bar .ALEXANDER MILLER shot just over two minutes later . He was not to be denied though when half way through the half Nicholas Locke made a good run to the bye line before cutting it back into the six yard box for him to score easily . Soon after Locke done the same again but this time found Scott Richards who’s shot came off the far left post . broxburn had a chance to increase their advantage when Ross Nimmo was bundled over in the box and Scott Richards stepped up to take the penalty ,his shot was well saved and cleared up the park .With five minutes remaining of the half Patrick Smith found himself clear at the back left of the box but lost his composure and shot well over when he should have done better . Alexander Miller was unlucky when his shot was stopped by the keepers legs when he knew next to nothing what happened in the crowded box . On the stroke of half time a hand ball 20 yards out on the left hand side was awarded against the hosts .NICHOLAS LOCKE stepped up and fired an unstoppable strike into the top right hand corner with the keeper rooted to the spot .
Three minutes into the second half PATRICK SMITH gave his side a little hope when he found himself clear inside the box on the right hand side and fired home .Two minutes later and Roddy Black fired just wide as they tried to get back into the game .A minute later Alexander Miller had his shot saved and when it broke out to Scott Richards he fired just over the bar .On 56 minutes ALEXANDER MILLER got his second when Scott Richards sent in a great corner which the striker met with his head to score .Substitute SCOTT McNAUGHTON got on the end of a ball into the box and headed home .SCOTT McNAUGHTON ,two minutes later made a great run past the defenders to receive a great through ball from Ross Nimmo and Scott put it past the keeper with ease .Overall a great display through out the side with all playing major roles in this win .The young players in this squad never cease to amaze me with the maturity of some of their play and it all looks good and well for the future .

A disappointing day at the Albyn Park as recent good form deserted the home side .All the goals came in the first half .On eleven minutes Craig Scott should have done better when sent through by Anderson but his weak shot was saved and the second bite at it was smothered by the keeper .Five minutes later a corner broke to the back post and Lawrie blasted just over the bar from six yards . A minute later Connor Wallace was adjudged to have brought down Young in the box and Lawrie scored from the spot kick . They doubled their lead when Brodie Gray jinked his way down the right and put a ball into the box which was met by Lawrie who scored easily .Broxburn got back into the game two minutes later when a corner played in was cleared out it was put out to Anderson on the right and his cross was met by the head of Darren Cole who fired home .
Both sides had chances to add to the scoreline but both keepers played their part in keeping the half blank .Disapointing but maybe just the kick up the A*** we need before midweek game at Linlithgow Rose .

Broxburn  ran out convincing winners beating Fauldhouse United 4-0 Anderson squandered a chance after only 3 minutes . Andrew Gilchrist tested Connor Wallace five minutes later .The same player hit the bar after 15 minutes and Broxburn broke up the park and Alexander Miller hit the post with a header but the ball broke to Michael Linton and he scored from 8 yards . Anderson was unlucky when forcing a decent save out of Jonathan Grier in the visitors goal . A minute later a Anderson free kick floated to the back post was smothered by the keeper .  Anderson and Zander missed chances to double the hosts lead before half time .

Three minutes into the second half Kieron Anderson gathered the ball 36 yards out and fired home into the roof of the net .On the hour mark Kieron was brought down running into the box and got up to score from the spot  . Four minutes later Kieron finished his hat trick and the scoring when  firing home a free kick from 25 yards out . Chances were coming thick and fast and if not for the visiting keeper it could have been a worse score for them . Still Broxburn seven goals in two games  Augurs well for the season ahead and we will need to keep the tempo up come Saturday’s home game to Dundonald Bluebell  .
