Broxburn started well at Carmuirs Park today and were denied an opener by the match officials when Alexander Miller beat David Kane in the home goals in a challenge for the ball on the edge of the box and slotted home only for the foul to be given for the challenge as they thought the keeper had the loose ball in his hands and under control . On five minutes the hosts had thought they had scored when Jason deans saw his shot saved and the ball broke to David O’Brien who fired home but was adjudged to have been offside when the ball was played through . The opener came after fourteen minutes when a free kick awarded ten yards inside the visitors half out on the right was floated into the back of the box where STUART BELL out jumped Frazer Paterson to head home .On twenty minutes a great ball from Craig Scott to Ross Nimmo wide right saw the winger cut the ball back to Michael Linton who’s shot was turned round the post for a corner .From the corner Alexander Miller headed wide left . Half way through the half and Nimmo and Linton set up a chance for Nicholas Locke but the captains shot went over the bar . On 34 minutes Nimmo put a great ball into the box from the bye line but David Kane smothered the ball and the danger was averted .
Broxburn started the second half well and in the first minute Miller saw his header from an Anderson corner saved .Two minutes later Anderson put a ball into the box from the left and it broke back out to him and he curled a shot just over the bar with the keeper beaten .The visitors continued to put pressure on the home defence and Kieron Anderson was sent through on goal but good defending saw him robbed of his chance for a corner . Half way through the second half and Camelon should have doubled their lead on three occasions as the ball was put back and forward across the Burn’s goal mouth with no takers for the host’s . Craig Donaldson could have gave his side a cushion when sent free on a counter attack but rushed his shot 30 yards out and it sailed over the bar .The equaliser came with six minutes remaining when Anderson played a ball into the edge of the box and was met by the head of Miller who headed it into the path of ROSS NIMMO who should great composure to hold of the challenge of the big defender before slotting home under the keeper .In injury time Alan Sneddon ran through on a long ball but saw his shot well saved by Connor Wallace and the ball broke up the park through Miller who got to the bye line wide on the right before crossing to the back post where he found Darren Gribben who mishit his shot into the side net when all were waiting for the net to bulge . A draw was the least we deserved today and we go into next week’s game away to Broughty with confidence of keeping the unbeaten run going .

Broxburn started very well and took control of the game and after four minutes Alexander Miller had a chance but saw his attempt saved at the near post .Two minutes later Ross Nimmo found him self thirty yards out in space and he shot just wide right of the post .The hosts did take the lead on 14 minutes when a ball over the top of the defence saw Harwood playing the on running ALEXANDER MILLER who ran in on goal and fired into the bottom left hand corner from the right hand side of the box . Broxburn doubled there lead when a ball played into the edge of the visiting box Roche tried to clear the ball down the park but ROSS NIMMO pressed and put the defender under pressure and won the ball before firing home an unstoppable shot past the unprotected Cormack .Half way through the half Jamie McCabe tried his luck from 25 yards out and central from a free kick but saw his attempt at goal go just over the bar .Anderson saw an effort go over the bar after good play down the left . With five minutes left of the half Kieron Anderson floated in a header and it was met by Miller who’s header was saved over the bar from point blank range .The last chance of the half fell to Miller after Darren Cole ran down the left and put a ball into the box Miller had time to trap and turn but his shot went just over the bar from 12 yards .
At the start of the second half Darren Downie had a chance but was disappointed at shooting high and wide left of the goal . Craig Scott and Grant Gavin combined with the later shooting just wide on 55 minutes . On the hour mark Carnoustie could have got back in the game when a corner came in it fell to Ryan Roche but he fired wildly over .Five minutes after that chance the visitors were punished with a double whammy when Ross Nimmo fired in a cross into the box it almost deceived the keeper and he looked lively to tip it round hid post .From the corner by Anderson the ball found a crowded six yard box and CRAIG PURVES got the credit for forcing the ball home to seal the three points .On 76 minutes Downie and Nimmo combined and saw Cormack pull off a fine save . With ten minutes left how Carnoustie did not get the ball over the line when played into the box Sam Simpson shot and as it was saved he tried again but could not get contact on the ball properly and a combination of defenders cleared the danger .The last chance fell to the visitors in the last minute when a corner played in was headed by Jamie McCabe and it came off the corner of cross bar and upright and then cleared out the danger area .Three comfortable points and a good finish to the year .

Broxburn Ath v Lochee United

This was a must win game for the hosts if they were to climb away from the bottom area of the league. They got off to the worse possible start when under no pressure out on the left Darren Cole attempted to pass the ball back to his keeper but was short and Bryan Deasley nipped in and was through on goals he went round Connor Wallace who dived at his feet but the keeper caught him and a penalty was awarded .BRYAN DEASLEY got up and despite Connor getting a hand to it the ball went in the net .Broxburn got back on level terms when a Anderson corner played in to the box was cleared to Nimmo who’s shot was cleared out to Anderson on the right his ball into the box was met by the head of GRANT GAVIN who steered his header high into the top left hand corner . On sixteen minutes good work from Anderson set up Miller who saw his shot blocked it broke out to Kay who saw his attempt deflected past the post . half way through the half Hagan fired an attempt past the right hand post . Grant Gavin sent a ball into Alexander Miller who saw his header tipped over the bar by Mark Fotheringham .
The second have Broxburn took the game to the visitors Chance’s were created but not taken until half way through the second half when Ross Nimmo ran down the right hand side and put a great ball across the box where Kieron Anderson flicked it to the back post and there on hand was NATHAN DONNELY -KAY to pick his spot and put his side in front .Two minutes later a Kieron Anderson corner in from the left reached the middle of the box where ROSS NIMMO fired home from 8 yards out to seal the points .The only other good chance came when Alexander Miller ran down the right but his ball into the box was just too far in front of his fellow strikers .A good three points and boost going into next week’s home match with Carnoustie Panmure with a 1-30pm kick off

Broxburn received a blow when Darren Cole reported injured before the game to add to the injury list .Broxburn had the first attempt on goals when Alexander Miller turned and shot from 20 yards but Liam Amos in the hosts goals dealt with it comfortably .Two minutes later Darren Gribben saw his direct free kick take a deflection on the way to goals but Amos saved again .On twelve minutes Kyle Lander was played in by Kevin O’Brien and his ball into the box found no takers .Kieron Anderson had a shot saved on seventeen minutes .Two minutes later a corner played in from the left was met with a glancing header by David Morris but his attempt went wide right . At the half way point of the first half Kieron Anderson played Nicholas Locke in from the left and the captains strike was heading for the top right hand corner from 25 yards out but some how Amos got his fingers to the ball and tipped it on to the bar and over for a corner .Jordan Cropley saw his deflected attempt go wide from 30 yards out .Kieron Anderson set up Michael Linton who brought out another great save from Amos who saved ,knocking the ball for a corner . On the half hour mark NEWTONGRANGE should have taken the lead when a ball played through and the Broxburn defence playing a high line Jordan Cropley bore down on goals but the advancing Connor Wallace done enough to cut the angle and the chance went agonisingly ,for the home side , wide of the right hand post .The opener did come two minutes later when Cropley turned Frazer Paterson out wide on the right and played a ball into the centre of the box and found KYLE LANDER standing on his own and he picked his spot from 12 yards out to give the hosts the lead .At the other end a minute later Linton saw his header saved on to the post and cleared from danger .The game was end to end and at the other end Jack Wilson put a ball goal ward and when Wallace spilt the ball Marcus Millar was on hand to blast the ball clear .With four first half minutes left a great one two on the edge of the box saw LEE CURRIE fire home across the goals into the bottom right hand corner to give his side a 2-0 half time lead .
Newtongrange almost increased their advantage a minute into the second half when Lee Currie saw his attempt go just wide right .Three minutes later a ball across the visitors box found David Morriss in splendid isolation and his goal bound attempt was cleared of the line by Marcus Millar .Newtongrange continued to press and two minutes later after good play outside the eighteen yard box Cropley saw his shot deflected over the bar for a corner . .With fifty two minutes on the clock Broxburn got back in the game when an Anderson corner into the near post and was met by Marcus Millar who saw his shot saved from close range but as the ball broke into a crowded six yard box DARREN GRIBBEN got his toe to the ball to force the ball into the net .This gave the visitors the lift they needed and pressed for the equaliser .It came after a great move which saw Ross Nimmo receive the ball wide on the right and he rolled the ball behind the defence onto Anderson who in turn played the ball into the box for MICHAEL LINTON who fired the ball into the bottom corner despite the best efforts of two defenders trying to stop him .With a quarter of an hour left of the game a corner to the back post saw Alexander miller send a powerful header in to the top corner at the back post but some how the defender got his head to it and cleared for a corner .Both sides had half chances to win the game in what was a good game for the neutrals but both camps were disappointed for different reasons at the end for not taking all three points today .

The second half started with the hosts trying hard to get back on level terms as the two sides counter acted each other Kieron Anderson had a shot which went over the bar after 53 minutes .On the hour mark Anderson floated a ball to the back post in the direction of Miller but the big striker couldn’t get his head to the ball and the ball went for a bye kick .Broxburn got back on level terms if some what fortuitously when Gribben fired over a free kick from the right into a packed box and SEAN O’Neill fired home past his own keeper giving him no chance .Kelty’s winner came with nine minutes remaining when a free kick form wide right was played into the box it was cleared as far as Shaun Greig who lobbed the ball over the top of the advancing group of players with two kelty players suspiciously in offside position’s ,but play was allowed to continue and Donoghue pulled of a great save but the loose ball was met by STEPHEN HUSBAND who gave Donoghue no chance as he tried to reposition after his initial save .Kelty should have put the game out of sight three minutes later when Husband got the ball in the clear fourteen yards out and when everybody thought he was going to pick his spot he fired wildly over the bar ..

With both sides trying to out guess the other the early stages were cagy with Boness coming close in 6 minutes when a ball played through came of Purves’s head and fell to the feet of Roddy Maclennan who should have done better than blast over the bar unchallenged .Five minutes later Connor Wallace turned over a Ross Philp effort .The opening goal came on fourteen minutes when a corner swung in to the back post was met by the head of COLIN STRICKLAND to bullet the ball home .Two minutes later Broxburn were level when Anderson squared a ball across the box and found ROSS NIMMO who shot under the keeper to score . Broxburn had an early chance in the second half when Anderson put a great ball into Alexander Miller but seen his ball turn past the post .Just past the hour mark and the visitors took the lead when a ball was not defended properly it fell to MICHAEL GEMMIL just out side the box and he fired it through a cluster of players into the net . Penicuik wrapped up the points in the first half as they stormed to a 4-1 interval lead .From the kick off Nicholas Locke made a great run and his attempt at goal was turned behind for a corner .Michael Linton saw a shot from 35 yards go just wide of the left hand post on three minutes . Two minutes later A ball played out to the left found Ross Montgomery who crossed into the box and found KEITH LOUGH totally unmarked in the middle of the box to shoot past the unprotected Connor Wallace in goals .Penicuik doubled their lead seven minutes later when a ball through the defence found AARON SOMERVILLE with only Wallace to beat and he fired into the bottom left hand corner . Darrell Young could have made it three but Connor saved his header well and the chance was cleared . Half way through the half Youssef Bejaoui in the hosts goal made a great one handed save from Kieron Anderson .On thirty five minutes it was 3-0 when another ball into the box was headed home unchallenged into the net by DARRELL YOUNG . A corner into the box saw the visitors get back into the game when the ball was cleared back out to Anderson he put the ball back in and after a bit of panicky defending the ball fell to ROSS DONNELLY to prod the ball home from close range . A minute before half time Penicuik gave them selves a three goal cushion with AARON SOMERVILLE got on the end of a ball into the box to score his second . On the half time whistle a great run and ball into the box was cut out with visiting forwards ready to pounce .

This will be considered two points dropped today as we fought out a stalemate 1-1 draw .We started well and looked like taking the game but allowed Newtongrange to get into the game and probably a draw was a fair result on the day . On 4 minutes we had a great chance of opening the scoring after good play down the right a ball into the box was turned behind for a corner of the post by the visiting defence . A minute later Craig Scott saw an effort from the right turned behind for a corner past the left hand post .Alexander Miller saw a chance hit the post on eight minutes . Broxburn were piling on the opening pressure and a Locke ball turned back across the box found no takers . The visitors having soaked up the opening pressure should have opened the scoring on fifteen minutes when good play across the edge of the hosts penalty area say Stuart Roseburgh shoot poorly wide .Roseburgh turned provider for Lee Currie who shot went well over the bar . On 26 minutes the Broxburn stood back and allowed Currie a free shot at goals about 8 yards out but in disbelief at his chance he shot wildly wide and it went out for a throw in when he should have scored . Near the end of the first half Roseburgh made good space down the left but his cross into the box went straight to Wallace in the host’s goal . They did open the scoring when a break away saw KYLE LANDER run towards the box and fired a shot away that took a wicked deflection and spun past the helpless Wallace into the net .
Broxburn came out the second half determined to get back in the game early . Alexander Miller was set up by substitute Kieron Anderson but the ball would not come down quick enough for the big striker and the defence bundled the ball past the post for a corner . With 52 minutes gone Jordan Cropley saw his free kick from wide left and about 30 yards out saved by the fully stretched Wallace . An hour gone and Lander put a great ball in from the right but found no visiting forwards . Broxburn were on level terms on 64 minutes when a corner was cleared out the box it landed at ROS NIMMO’s feet and he fired a unstoppable shot into the bottom left hand corner from 35 yards .Alexander Miller got his head to a ball into the box from Anderson but his looping header was tipped over by Liam Amos in goals . A minute later Nimmo tried his luck again from range but this time it went well over the bar . Two minutes later the hosts suffered a scare when Jack Wilson had an effort cleared of the line and away from danger . In the last minute Wilson was through on goal clear of the home defence but the advancing Wallace saved well when all thought he had nothing better to do than hit the net . Newtongrange had one last chance in the dying embers of the game when Cropley forced Wallace to be at his best yet again . A draw as I said probably a fair result but we must start getting more points at home if we are to challenge for anything this season .

What a match this was with ourselves coming out on top of a eleven goal thriller . It didn’t start well for us as a long ball caught us out at the back in the first minute and Ben Anthony ran down the left hand side and when reaching the bye line cut it back across the goals for the on running LEWIS McKENZIE TO turn the ball home . two minutes later Alexander Miller crossed for Ross Nimmo who shot well over the bar snatching at his shot . Paul Quinn almost made it 2-0 after nine minutes when he was set up by Anthony but the striker put his shot wide of the goals . Broxburn made them pay a minute later when Moosa Mampuya made a great forward run well into the opponents half and he laid the ball to the feet of SCOTT RICHARDS who fired home giving Lennox no chance . Nicholas Locke saw an attempt go wide after good build up play by the visitors .Two minutes later the hosts took the lead when MCkenzie was sent through on goal on the right hand side of the box and Connor Wallace was adjudged to have brought him down inside the box with PAUL QUINN scoring from the resultant penalty kick . Broxburn equalised on twenty minutes when Richards laid the ball off to NICHOLAS LOCKE who fired home from twenty yards . Just before the half hour great one two between Richards and Moosa saw the later shot saved by Lennox’s outstretched leg .A minute later we had a scare when the ball was cleared from the back post from a Bluebell corner .Nicholas Locke was presented with a penalty kick after Calum rarity pushed Richards as he went for the ball but Lennox made a great save from the captain . Substitute CRAIG SCOTT was played in by Linton and from thirty five yards out he fired a rocket into the top corner to the delight of his team mates . With the time running out on the first half a ball played into the box was handled by the defender and this time ALEXANDER MILLER stepped up and made no mistake from the awarded penalty spot . That was the last action of the half .
The second half started as the first half did .LEWIS McKENZIE went on a run across the park from left to right and fired a shot home from 12 yards . Scott McNaughton forced a save from Lennox after 50 minutes . Broxburn regained their two goal cushion on 55 minutes when Moosa was badly tackled and required treatment .From the free kick Scott Richards floated a ball to the edge of the box and was met by ALEXANDER MILLER who with his back to goal just inside the box he looped a backward header up and over the Diminutive Lennox in the hosts goal .Just before the hour former Broxburn centre half Calum Rarity saw his shot saved by Wallace .ALEXANDER MILLER completed his hat trick in style when running through on goal wide left and from just inside the box he curled a shot into far right top corner giving the keeper no chance .Dundonald were not finished and on 70 minutes a corner into the box was fired goal ward twice and cleared before it broke to PAUL QUINN who prodded the ball home to give his side a lift . They were now pressing hard for more goals to get back in the match and the Broxburn defence defended stoutly . Eighty five minutes on the clock and Scott Richards fired a shot of the post and it broke to Alexander Miller but the striker shot over the bar from an offside position . BRODIE GRAY made it a nervy last couple of minutes for “THE BURN ” when scoring from 22 yards out with two regular minutes left . Despite their best efforts the Bell could not get that elusive equaliser and Broxburn left with three valuable points .
