Boness United

A terrific performance coming back twice with a make shift set up after injuries and work commitments left us without a recognised defence .Losing a goal as we did by a O.G. to gift the hosts the lead was not good but the Kieron Anderson free kick from 30 yards out lit up Newtown park for the Boness lad . The hosts regained the lead with about twenty minutes remaining through former Broxburn player Fraser Keast . We never gave in and a great run by Kieron through the middle of the park and a finely weighted ball into the path of Alexander Miller in the last minute silenced some of the Boness crowd that had been giving Anderson a hard time . We fully deserved something from the game and the spirit in the squad is high and looking good for the future . Good to see Alexander Murray get some game time at last .

Managerial Appointments

The club are pleased to announce that Brian McNaughton will be the new manager and will be ably assisted by Steve Hislop .Brian we all know and Steve brings to the club a wealth of experience from both on and off the park .Aged 39 he was 12 years in senior football before going into the junior ranks and played up until 3 years ago . He more recently was part of the Scotland Junior coaching staff in the Umbro Quadrangular Tournament .We welcome Steve to the club and wish them both every success .Steve will take up his post after this weekend .Feedback from the playing staff is positive on the appointments made and are looking forward to getting up the league and building for next season .

MANAGERIAL UPDATE

We have had a number of applicants for the post of manager and we are currently weighing up the cv’s of those that we think have the experience that is required for the vacant post we will endeavour to get this done as soon as we feel ready to appoint and will inform you all as soon as any appointment is made .In the meantime Brian McNaughton is handling team affairs and Greig Taylor has offered his services to help him until something permanent is found ,we thank them for their input .
