CAMELON V BROXBURN ATHLETIC

A big result in a tough encounter taking the lead through Connor Kelly giving us a deserved 1-0 half time lead before Kieran Anderson got his trade mark free kick goal early in the second half . We battled away and the effort and determination paid dividends in the last minute with a Alexander Miller winner in the last minute sealing the points .A good three points away from home to one of the expected challenger’s is a good start in our league campaign . Another tough game on Saturday to come with our trip to Gretna 2008 in the Football Nations cup 1st round with a 3pm kick off .Bus leaves the Albyn at 11-30am .

KEY DRAW RESULT

DUNDONALD BLUEBELL V BROXBURN ATH

What a performance today with the whole team complimenting each other with the way they played as a team . Everyone of them turned in a performance that was pleasing to the eye from back to front . Three goals from Miller with Kelly and Nimmo making it five to cancel out the two counters for the Bluebell through McKenzie and Campbell .A game we controlled for vast amount of the game time and never seemed phased  even when the equalised .Gives us an away tie on September the 1st to Jeanfield Swift with a 2-30pm kick off in the second round .

BROXBURN ATH V CRAIGROYSTON

Disapointing , frustrating night for “THE BURN”  with what looked like a good goal not being given and the Craigroyston goalkeeper being in fine form we ended not scoring for the first time  this season . Still in with a good shout to get to the first round proper with a win over Newtongrange Star on Saturday  . The format sees the winners ( 10 sides ) of each group  qualify for the first round  of the Central Taxi’s East of Scotland League Cup along with the best of the runner up’s .The runners up (9 sides ) from all the other groups apart from the best runner up group will play in a pre qualifying match in the competition along with the best third placed side from the groups excluding group J which has only three teams . BROXBURN ATH V DUNDONALD BLUEBELL

A great start to the season with a 2-1 win over one of the stronger sides in the new set up ,Dundonald Bluebell .Not a good start for the first 45 minutes but grew into the game and after losing a first half penalty after Jonni Turner fouled in the box a Dundonald forward  and Archie Campbell scored from the spot .Jonni made up for it with a cracking free kick with 17 minutes left to draw us level .Alexander Miller got the winner three minutes later . A good start and we move on to the second game in the group on Tuesday the 31st of July at home to Craigroyston with a 7-30pm kick off .

Broxburn Ath v HutchisonvaleLothianthistle

A good tough encounter to finish off our preparation’s for the season ahead .Greg Binnie opened the scoring on 11 minutes when sent through and he lobbed the keeper to score . On 25 minutes Connor McGregor scored from the spot after Craig Purves fell on the ball and was adjudged to have handled .Conor Kelly put Broxburn 2-1 ahead from the spot when Ross Nimmo was fouled as he ran into the box . Alexander replaced Binnie at half time . Ryan Kelly extended the lead when his shot was saved by the keeper he reacted quickly to score . Nicholas Locke scored from a corner as he headed home in 80 minutes . All the preparation has now been done and it is down to the real stuff on Saturday against Dundonald Bluebell .What we need is a bigger crowd supporting the club I am sure the players will respond and are playing very well .it is well worth the admission money these days at the Albyn Park .
