Frazer Paterson has resigned for anther season at the Albyn park and is looking to step up to the challenge ahead and relishes the prospect of the season to come having joined at the half way point of the season last term . Two new signings can be announced both whom were at Spartans last season .Jack Beesley who plays midfield has been signed after spending all most seven years at Spartans and was highly regarded by the management team at his previous club where he will still be involved as a very highly regarded community coach . He is 30 years old (16/9/86 ) and will bring a wealth of experience and talent to the Albyn park .He was previously with Edinburgh University prior to signing with the Spartans.

Christopher Townsley is another big loss to the Spartans who having spent the past season there before joining The Burn .Chris is 32 (4/3/1985 ) and has bags of experience to bring to the club he plays centre back and started his professional career at Alloa after youth spells at Hearts and Ross County ,in 2004 .His 6 years at recreation park saw him make 199 appearances for “The Wasps” .He then moved to Spartans for a season before going to Berwick rangers in June 2011 where he played sixty times over his two seasons there . Chris then joined East Stirlingshire in July 2013 where he quickly became a vital component in the Shire’s defence .In each of his three season’s there he was named player of the year before moving on to Spartans at the start of last season .

New signing from Local club Pumpherston Juniors is Alexander Murray who is a 25 year old forward who scored 20 goals last season from 25 appearances ,his previous clubs include Motherwell , Airdrie Utd , Eastfield (a) , Clydeside (a) , and Edinburgh Harp

At the East Region AGM tonight the proposal for league reconstruction was defeated against the present set up .It was confirmed that with Kelty Hearts leaving the juniors Newtongrange Star would be playing in the Superleague next season and St Andrews also have another life as they will remain in the Premier league allowing the leagues to be the same numbers . Harthill Royal confirmed their renewed status by coming out of abeyance to play in the South District league this season . The season will start on Saturday the 5th of August and Superleague and Premier league will play two midweek matches there after on the 9th and 16th of August . The first round of the East of Scotland Cup will be played on Saturday the 2nd of September and the draw is listed below . Broxburn Athletic’s Jim Provan was confirmed as President of the region with Bathgate Thistle’s Robert Napier becoming Vice President of the region . We have arranged pre-season matches for July .Our first friendly is scheduled for Saturday the 15th of July when we will play Spartans away with a 1pm kick off . The following weekend we have been invited to play in the Kelty Hearts tournament with Sauchie being our opponents on the Saturday the 22nd of July with a 12.00 o’clock kick off .With the winners and losers playing the following day on Sunday the 23rd of July against either Kelty Hearts or Kennoway Star with kick off times determined by Saturday’s result’s .On Saturday the 29th of July we will be away to Musselburgh Ath with a 2-30pm kick off .

Darren Cole has signed a contract with Derry City who play in the SSE Airtricity Premier Division .Their season runs from February to October .We wish Darren all the best from everybody at the club on his move to Ireland .
