RACE NIGHT DATE

We will be holding a race night on Saturday the 11th July at 7pm for the club with an added raffle through Jim Provan’s face book which will go live  .For every horse bought for the race night for £5 you will also get a free raffle ticket .Extra raffle tickets can be bought for £2 each  . The prize’s are as follows   1st prize is £40  of vouchers for Giannino’s  restaurant , kindly donated by Christine Dunbar  . A second prize is Broxburn Athletic merchandise  including  Scarf , Tammy , Water bottle , Enamel pin badge and Commemorative Scottish cup mug all with the Broxburn Ath Badge on . (Merchandise can be bought  through club sources ) . To buy horses and raffles contact Jim Provan and let him know what you wish to buy and the name of your horse’s . He will let you know how to pay through our friends of Broxburn Athletic account.

David Greenhill becomes summer addition number four

The midfielder brings a wealth of experience to Albyn park, having previously played in the senior ranks with Clyde and also a league winner with Berwick Rangers. Greenhill has also tasted success with Spartans in the Lowland League, notching up 148 appearances and 44 goals for the Edinburgh outfit.

Hopkinson hopes to hit the ground running

Jordan Hopkinson arrives at The Albyn from East of Scotland B league champions Tynecastle. Hopkinson scored 12 goals last season in the title-winning campaign. He previously played for Civil Service Strollers in the Lowland league finishing top goalscorer with 15 goals.

RACE NIGHT RESULT

Last week’s race night was a great success once more down to all who bought horses for the event . After all prize money was accounted for Broxburn Athletic and St John’s Hospital shared £330 , meaning a total of £735 has been sent to St John’s Hospital during these testing times . On behalf of the Hospital and of course the club we thank you all for your contribution .

New arrival at The Albyn

Gary Brass (28) will join the club at the conclusion of his current contract with East Region Junior outfit Whitburn. The striker has spent seven years with ‘The Burnie’ and helped them to their first trophy in 17 years.

RACE NIGHT FRIDAY 29TH MAY 7PM

We will be holding a race night on Friday night the 29th of May at 7pm by way of Jim Provan’s Facebook page where he will go live on Friday night showing all the races for all to see . To buy a horse all you have to do is let Jim know by text or message the name of your horse or horse’s and do a bank transfer for £5 for each horse you buy . Then tune in on Friday night to watch the race’s . the profit will be shared by Broxburn Athletic and St John’s Hospital  .We have sent £570 already to the hospital between us and our partner’s at BUSC . So go on buy a horse and join the fun . Details of account is the friends of Broxburn account and details on application .

BACKROOM STAFF

Christopher Townsley has asked and he readily accepted a place on the management staff of Broxburn Athletic in the shape of Jack Beesley . Jack is a very experienced player and will be part of the pool on match days .Jack will bring his coaching experience’s to the club and is a very popular guy with the rest of the squad and has already pointed out several target’s to enhance the playing squad at the Albyn Park .We wish him well in his new role and hope like Chris he can move the club forward in the coming season’s .

Broxburn Athletic would like to thank all of you who have continued to donate money during these hard times to our Friends of Broxburn account . This is very much appreciated and welcomed in these hard times for all . To you’s who have increased your contributions and indeed our new friends of Broxburn we are truly grateful .Also since the Key Draw was suspended supporter’s have donated their stakes to the club through this form and again we are grateful . Hopefully this situation will resolve sooner rather than later and we can all get back to doing our favourite things .In the meantime be save and once more we thank you .

MANAGERIAL CHANGE

It is with regret that Brian McNaughton has decided to step down as team manager .We would like to thank Brian for his effort’s over the past few years and wish him well for the future . Once we knew of Brian’s decision we moved swiftly to offer Christopher Townsley the post vacated .He has accepted the job and has been preparing the past season for a position on the staff ,we wish him every success in his new role at the club ,Chris will appoint his backroom staff in due course   Steven Hislop has also decided after Brian’s decision it was time to step down as coach .Once again we thank Steven for his invaluable input during his time at the Albyn Park . As you will see on social media both have left on amicable terms and have both stated how much they had enjoyed their time here and commented on the club ,we thank them for their parting words .They thanked the club, committee and supporter’s for giving them 100% backing in what ever they needed and done and wish Chris all the best in the role ..
