The first opportunity fell to the visitors when Nicholas Locke got down the right hand side and sent the ball in to Alexander Miller who fired over the bar on 4 minutes . Four minutes later a corner in from the left saw Dylan Weldon get a free header but saw it go over the bar . Miller forced a great save from Jack Findlay in the host’s goal . Broxburn broke the deadlock on 13 minutes when Nicholas Locke sent ALEXANDER MILLER through on goal and when he rounded the keeper he swept the ball into the unguarded goal . Half way through the half Preston sent a free kick into the box and it was cleared to the back right of the box where Steven Campbell was unmarked and he floated the ball back into the mix where it fell to Weldon who fired over the bar from just inside the box . Conor Kelly saw a good attempt deflected for a corner on 25 minutes .Preston got back on level terms in 27 minutes when SCOTT WALKER made room on the edge of the box before firing low into the bottom left hand corner . A minute later a ball back to Findlay in the host’s goal was spilled and when Miller went for the loose ball the keeper impeded him but the referee gave nothing more than a corner . Miller saw two attempts cleared off the line on the half hour mark . An attempted clearance at the other end by Andrew Gillen broke to Dylan Weldon who got down the left before firing across the box where Conor Wallace done well to turn the ball behind for a corner . Preston were reduced to ten men with six minutes of the half remaining when Miller was through on goal and Craig Innes came across him and brought him crashing to the ground for which he  saw a straight red card .  Two minutes later Miller sent a shot wide left of the post from the edge of the box on the right hand side .

The second half started slow and it was on 55 minutes when the first chance of the half was sent in from miller which the keeper spilled but Kelly was adjudged to have fouled the keeper going for the loose ball . On the hour mark Conor Kelly fired in a shot that Findlay managed to tip over the bar . From the corner the ball broke out to Ross Nimmo who fired in a shot that was blocked and cleared . Broxburn took the lead when a ball played into the box by Andrew Gillen broke back out to Chris Townsley just outside the right hand side of the 18 yard box he sent a ball into the box where GORDON DONALDSON got beyond the defence to guide the ball home past Findlay on 64 minutes  .Five minutes later the visitors took a strangle hold on the game when  a Beasley corner into the box eight yards out was met by the head of CHRISTOPHER TOWNSLEY who headed home . GREG BINNIE got on the end of a Jack Beasley ball into the back left post for him to turn the ball past Findlay to put his side in a comfortable position five minutes later . Jack Beasley almost made it five when a great shot from the right hand side came crashing off the left hand post with Findlay rooted to the spot . The final chance of the game came on 82 minutes when   Gordon Donaldson got down the left and fired a ball across the box that was just too strong for the in coming Daniel Duncan ..This sent us back to the top on goal difference with two league games to come this week which could give us the chance to consolidate our position at the top of the league

This was to be the first official match on Dunipace’s new ground and a fine set up they have got .It was Dunipace who made the first chance of the game when Ryan Mack made a good run down the right before sending a great ball across the visitor’s box but no one was there to take advantage . Broxburn took the lead on four minutes when a free kick 30 yards out on the left hand side was floated deep into the box by Jack Beasley the home defender turned the ball past his own keeper to give the visitors a gift start . It was two nil on nine minutes when ALEXANDER MILLER was sent through into the box on the left hand side he went past the keeper to the bye line then cur back past the recovering keeper and defender’s getting back on the line to fire home through a crowded near post to score . Craig Scott had an attempt for goal on 13 minutes but his effort went well over the bar Beasley sent Miller through again on 17 minutes but the striker’s shot went wide right . Two minutes later a rare attack on the visitors goal saw Barry Tulloch battle his way into the box before hitting  his shot into the side netting .On 20 minutes Conor Kelly had a chance but as he made room for the shot the defence got back to clear the danger . Half way through the half and Beasley got down the left hand side before setting up Nicholas Locke who’s shot went wide left . Beasley himself saw a shot saved on 25 minutes . A minute later Miller pulled the best out of Jordan Alan in the host’s goal Aproaching the half hour mark and a short corner played to Locke saw the captain not get the full power behind the shot and Alan saved easily . Ross Nimmo and Andrew Gillen combined well down the right before the later sent a ball across the box that was turned behind for a corner . The corner came in and was defended for a corner at the other side . This corner was cleared but only as far as Gordon Donaldson who floated a ball into the box where ALEXANDER MILLER  steered the ball with his head into the back of the net Aiden Stevenson tried his luck from 30 yards out but saw his effort go wide right .Kelly was set up by Miller on 39 minutes but Alan saved from the striker . As the half was coming to an end Nimmo and Gillen set up a chance from the right but the ball into the box was cleared for a corner . The corner came into the box and Miller got his head to it but his effort was cleared off the line . Jack Beasley had an opportunity before the half time whistle when a ball into the host’s box was cleared out to him but his shot went over the bar .

The second half started with Broxburn still taking the game to their opponents  and Nimmo sent Locke into the box but his effort was cleared out for a corner . Fifty three minutes gone and Locke put a good ball into the box but there was no takers for the eccelent ball in . Broxburn thought they had added to the scoreline when two efforts were saved then blocked before Miller saw an effort bounce ,by all accounts over the line but spun back out and the referee gave no goal .(NO ASSISTANTS TODAY ) ,Scott saw an effort saved on 55 minutes . Aiden Stevenson made room for a shot 20 yards out but his effort went over the bar . Two minutes later Kelly provided Nimmo with a chance but his shot was blocked and cleared . On 59 minutes the game was put out of reach by the visitor’s when a free kick 25 yards out slightly left of centre was fired in over the wall into the top left hand corner by NICHOLAS LOCKE  .  Alan McFadden saw a effort from 20 yards go over the bar .Craig Scott almost caught Alan out when he had a free kick 35 yards out wide on the left ,when everyone was expecting a ball into the box the midfielder fired for goals just missing the left hand post with Alan no where near it in the goals . Miller and Scott Richards had chances saved then blocked on 71 minutes . Miller set up Scott on 73 minutes but his shot went just over the bar . With 11 minutes remaining Dunipace got a consolation when CHRIS MOULANGOU  was sent into the box and he fired past the idle Connor Wallace to score . Two minutes later the same player got down the left and cut along the bye line before hitting the side net with an effort on goal . With six minutes left Nicholas Locke flighted a great ball from a free kick out on the right and Shaun Harrison knows he could have done better with his free header going wide right of the target . Miller saw a shot well saved on 86 minutes and when it broke to Scott Richards  out on the left and he bent a great shot into the top right corner but it was just too high and struck the corner of the woodwork and bounced down into the arms of the grateful Alan . The last effort of the match came when Gregor Dryden had a shot from well out that went just over the bar . A semi final spot at home to Camelon is the reward for this victory with and we fully deserved to be there .A tough semi final in prospect but one I am sure the squad will be up for when it comes around .

After a long journey with diversions due to road closures we arrived at the picturesque  village of  New Abbey  for a SFA South Region Challenge cup 2nd round match against Abbey Vale  .In the opening minute Broxburn had a couple of chances that were desperately defended and cleared. ,In 7 minutes we knew this was going to be a minefield of a tie when Nicholas Locke was through on goal he knocked the ball past the advancing keeper who clinically brought him down but to the amazement of all in attendance, home support as well, the referee gave Broxburn a corner kick ? and waved away obviously strong claims for a penalty . Abbey vale had an attack on 9 minutes down the left but when the ball was crossed into the box it was too strong for Dylan Cairnie who tried to get on the end of it . Locke had a good shot on eleven minutes from 35 yards out that went just over the bar . Good play two minutes later saw Michael Linton play a ball to Conor Kelly who in turn laid it of to Greg Binnie but his shot went wide left of the target . A good ball into the box fell to Gordon Donaldson but the defender so his shot from just inside the box come off the left upright before being cleared by the defence . Dylan Cairnie took a free kick central to goals twenty yards out but his direct shot was easily gathered by Connor Wallace . Nathan Donnelly Kay done well to get to a ball out wide right and his back heel to Donaldson allowed the defender to cross into the box where Greg Binnie headed it goal wards only for Taylor Hall to save at his left hand post .  Half way through the half and Broxburn were pressing for the opening and Locke put a good ball into the box that Conor Kelly back headed but again Hall saved . A minute later Curtis Telfer thought he was scoring when his shot took a deflection high in the air and Wallace had to look lively to tip it over as it was coming down into the net . With 27 minutes on the clock Craig Purves took a nasty kick in the face  and had to come off to get his cut above his eye mended . .The opening goal came a minute later when NICHOLAS LOCKE had a free kick twenty five yards out to the left in line with the 18 yards box he curled it over the wall into the bottom left hand corner . The second goal came on 36 minutes when a great ball in to the box from Andrew Gillen (on for the injured Craig Purves) was met by the head of CONOR KELLY who headed home giving Hall no chance of saving . A good move down the right set up Greg Binnie just inside the box but his shot went over .The third goal came just before half time when Jack Beasley sent a good ball into the box for GREG BINNIE  to head home .

The second half started as the first had finished with Broxburn on the attack .Binnie sent Ross Nimmo out wide right and as the winger moved in on goal he shot just wide left of the target . Two minutes later Nimmo sent Binnie clear in on goal but Hall did well to come out and save at the striker’s feet . It was on 55 minutes the visitors got the fourth when Nimmo crossed in to the box for CONOR KELLY to break clear of the defence to head past  Hall in the host’s goal . Nimmo was through on goal on the hour mark but shot just wide left .Good play on 65 minutes saw Locke play the ball out to Gillen  who played it into Binnie in the box he in turn laid it off to Daniel Duncan who was unlucky to see his shot bend , just not enough ,  past the left hand post .A minute later Alexander Miller done well to get to the bye line and cut the ball back across the goals but Hall smothered the ball to thwart the danger ..Another bizarre decision by the referee on 74 minutes Miller broke free on the right and about two yards from the bye line cut it back across the goals to the on coming Binnie who turned the ball into the empty net but too everyone’s amazement the referee disallowed the goal for offside ? . This was just after a ball came off a Abbey Vale player and went out for a throw and when Andrew Gillen went to take the ball of the Abbey Vale player he was booked for delaying the restart of the game as the referee had given the hosts the throw in ? . Honestly you could not make it up . Conor Kelly saw a shot on goals deflect of Miller to go out for a by kick on 76 minutes . A minute later Duncan made a good run down the right before passing to Miller who saw his good shot equally saved .From the corner into the box Binnie headed goal wards but it was cleared of the line . Locke saw a shot blocked and it broke to Miller who’s shot went wide left . With two minutes remaining Miller was through on goals but his shot went into the side netting . Broxburn went nap in injury time when a ball into the box was bouncing about and when cleared from the line it hit of ALEXANDER MILLER’s outstretched leg and sneaked in at the left hand post ( They all Count ) . Another cup progress and comfortable in the end despite some strange going’s on and things we probably shouldn’t repeat that was said during the game by official’s that were equally bizarre ,but we go on to next week’s Quarter final of the Alec Jack cup full of confidence and looking forward to another performance to keep our run going .

A better than average game expected today with a lot at stake for both clubs .It was on three minutes when good play down the left set up Nicholas Locke who sent his effort wide of the right hand post . Three minutes later Ross Nimmo sent in a dangerous ball to the six yard box but the visiting defence cleared . It was Blackburn   who took the lead on 13 minutes when a long ball out the box bounced with Craig Purves and JORDAN BAIN going for the ball with the Blackburn player getting on the end of it in the box before lifting the ball over Paul Grant in the hosts goal . The lead only lasted four minutes when Broxburn gained a corner and when Beasley sent it into the box from the right CHRISTOPHER TOWNSLEY got his head to it to head home . Alexander Miller sent a good effort over on twenty minutes .A minute later Conor Kelly worked well down the right before firing over a cross into the box but failed to find any of his team mates . Ross Nimmo fired in a free kick from twenty five yards out  but Gavin King turned the effort round his right hand post for a corner . Miller made a good run down the right and along the bye line before shooting from a tight angle that King smothered at his near post just after the half hour mark  . Almost imeadietly   at the other end a ball into the box from Downie found Scott Wright who carved out an opening but put his shot just wide of the left hand post . Broxburn took the lead on 36 minutes when Greg Binnie got to the bye line on the right before crossing into box for ALEXANDER MILLER  to turn home .

Blackburn came out in determined fashion and two minutes into the half Scott Wright got down the right before cutting along the bye line and his shot come cross was deflected for a corner . On 51 minutes Craig young tried to curl one in from the right hand side but it went well past the left hand post .Miller sent a ball into Binnie on 56 minutes but the defence stepped in to clear for a shy .  With just over an hour on the clock a Ross Nimmo free kick into box broke out to Jack Beasley who’s shot was cleared  as far as Shaun Harrison who in turn fired over the bar . Broxburn were awarded a penalty in 70 minutes after Kelly was impeded going for the ball in the six yard box . CONOR KELLY stepped up to the spot and fired home giving King no chance . Scott Wright received a ball out wide right before slipping past Gordon Donaldson and firing in a shot that Paul Grant did well to turn away for a corner .Blackburn got back in it on 70 minutes when Craig Purves tugged Jordan Bain to the ground as he made his way along the bye line into the box and DARREN DOWNIE scored from the spot . With only two minutes left of normal time and Blackburn still in the game CONOR KELLY  got space just outside the box before firing home an unstoppable shot  to give his side a two goal cushion . going into injury time and Ross Nimmo forced a good save from Gavin King . The game was put beyond all doubt two minutes into injury time when a ball cleared out the box was played back in CHRISTOPHER TOWNSLEY got a glancing header towards goal that seemed to spin on the surface sending the keeper the wrong way and nestling into the net  .5-2 the final score but a much tighter game in reality three good points and our unbeaten record goes on .

In the first embers of the game Alexander Miller got down the right and fired across into the box but the home defence cleared the danger .In four minutes Aaron Whitehead saw a shot deflected over for a corner for the home side . Gary Fergus tried his luck from 20 yards but Shaun Harrison blocked his shot and the chance was cleared . After a quarter of an hour a through ball to Miller  who saw his attempt saved and when the ball broke to Ross Nimmo he shot over the bar .Alexander Miller was given a chance just inside the box on 21 minutes but Mark Mitchell in the host’s goal saved well for a corner . The corner came into the box and was cleared out as far as CONOR KELLY who steadied himself before sending the ball into the bottom left hand corner through a crowded box to open the scoring . Just after the half hour mark Jeanfield should have equalised when a ball into the near left post spun through the box and landed at the feet of Paul Simpson who blasted the ball towards the goal from 12 yards but Gordon Donaldson threw himself at the shot to block the effort and the ball was cleared .  Gordon Donaldson got on the end  of a corner at the back post but Mitchell turned the ball over the bar on 34 minutes  . Nicholas Locke got down the right with four minutes left of the half and sent a great ball across the box that found Nimmo at the back left of the box but his ball in was spoiled when Kelly was adjudged to have fouled while trying to get on the end of the cross back in .

The second half started with the home side desperately trying to get back on level terms and three minutes into the half a good ball into box from the right was falling at the feet of Robbie Holden when Michael Linton put in a timely tackle to clear the danger just as the striker was ready to pull the trigger . The hosts thought they had scored when Lewis Mackie got the ball thirty yards out strolled forward before firing in a shot that crashed of the left hand post with Paul Simpson firing wide of the same post from the rebound . At the other end on 56 minutes a corner into the box was met by the head of Miller but the strikers effort was cleared of the line . A good ball into the box on 68 minutes was just to far in front of Robbie Holden who was probably offside anyway had he made contact . Nicholas Locke saw a shot well saved for a corner on 70 minutes . On the counter attack  from a Broxburn corner the home side forced a corner for themselves .The ball was sent in to the back post and Rhys Davies shot was saved at the post by Wallace and cleared out the box by his defence . Ross Nimmo put a good ball into the back post which caught out Jack Beasley and the chance went a begging . Jack Beasley set up Locke in the box but Mitchell saved well at the expense of a corner on 84 minutes  . A minute later the visitors relieved the pressure when  Chris Townsley up the park for a corner rescued a ball out on the right and his ball out to Beasley on the corner of the box on the left hand side the substitute lobbed a ball into the box for ALEXANDER MILLER to glance a header into the net .Jeanfield pressed to try rescue the cup tie and came close when Rhys Davies made a good run into the box before firing a shot goal bound but Connor Wallace was not going to get beat today as he saved well turning the ball round the right hand post for a corner .A really good cup tie that had everyone on their toes from the off played at a high tempo by both sides and good football played as well .Last eight awaits the visitors with the draw still to be made ,lets hope we can get a home draw for a change .

Ormiston had a chance when good play across the eighteen yard box found Tinashe Ruwona but the Ormiston player shot over the bar .Broxburn went nap on 71 minutes when Craig Scott put a great ball out to Beasley on the right and he crossed into the box where GREG BINNIE was on hand to turn the ball into the net .Three minutes later it was six when a ball into the box came out to ROSS NIMMO who hammered the ball into the bottom left hand corner . Three minutes later the little midfielder saw a diving header at the back post four yards out came of the post  and clear of danger . It was only to be delayed a couple of minutes for him to get his second and side’s seventh when ROSS NIMMO received a good ball out on the left and he got into the box before firing home into the bottom left hand corner   . Kelly turned and shot over on 72 minutes before ROSS NIMMO completed his hat trick on 84 minutes when again he received a ball out left and ran in on goals to lift the ball over the keeper into the top right hand corner .Kelly could have added to the scoring but just failed to control the ball and the chance was gone . A comprehensive win of which there were a few today ,but we will have to be at our best against much stronger opposition next week in Perth against Jeanfield Swifts in the Alec Jack cup second round a much tougher game expected .

Broxburn Athletic started on the attack and Alexander Miller saw a shot deflected for a corner in two minutes . Camelon stepped up after that and Kieran Anderson saw a wicked shot from wide left tipped over the bar by Connor Wallace to the frustration of his former team mate a minute later . Four minutes  gone and Anderson was through on goal but again Wallace came out to block the effort and the ball spun away for a throw in . Camelon were pressing and only a minute later on 5 minutes a ball into the box  saw Andrew Kay head just over the bar .Broxburn Athletic came back into it and Miller put a great ball into the box from the right but Donald Morrison headed clear for a corner on ten minutes . Gordon Donaldson got down the left and put a great ball into the box where Miller met it with his head but it sailed over the bar on thirteen minutes . Half way through the half a throw in to Miller allowed him to turn and shoot but it went wide right from the left hand side . A minute later Nicholas Locke made a good run down the right and a good ball in to Miller set up a chance but Dean Shaw came out and blocked the striker’s shot . A blow on the half hour mark saw Scott Richards limp off and replaced by Ross Nimmo . With 36 minutes on the clock a Harrison free kick into the box saw Miller send a pass out to Nimmo who’s shot was saved for a corner . The corner came into the crowded penalty area and CONNOR KELLY some how found room to turn and shoot home into the bottom left hand corner to give the visitors the lead . Two minutes later Ross Nimmo made a move down the right and his pass was blocked going into the box but it came back to him and this time he sent in a great ball which Miller sent wide right of the target . With a minute left Anderson was in on goal but was blocked and when the ball broke back to Liam McCroary he sent the ball high and wide . The last action of the half saw Connor Kelly set up Nimmo but the wee man sent his shot into the side netting .

Camelon came out the second half determined to get back in the game and on 47 minutes an Anderson free kick into the box  was headed wide by Donald Morrison . Good one touch passing on the edge of the box saw Kelly finally shoot but he did so weakly at the keeper and he gathered easily .
