Broxburn started brightly but Linlithgow soon got into the game and Owen Ronald was put through and he rounded the advancing Connor Wallace but slid his attempt at goal into the right hand side netting . On eleven minutes Roddy MacLennan tried an overheaed kick but saw it go over the bar from just inside the box . Wallace saved well from Darren Smith on 14 minutes . Ross Barbour thought he could beat Wallace from 40 yards out but the keeper gathered easily . With 20 minutes on the clock Craig Scott put a great ball into the box and Nicholas Locke saw his glancing header shave the crossbar on the way over . Half way through the half Darren Smith put a cross come shot into the box and Wallace had to look lively as he tipped the ball over the bar . With half an hour gone Ian Gray got down the right and his cross into the box found the head of Tommy Coyne but his effort was easily save as he failed to get any power on the header . A minute later Cameron Ross shot wildly over the bar .Broxburn’s best chance came on 36 minutes when Alexander Miller was through with a defender to beat and attempted to go round him but MacKenzie stopped him in his tracks with Ross Nimmo free on the right with a clear run in on goal .Nicholas Locke was through and shot over on 40 minutes .With the half coming to a close Roddy MacLennan robbed Miller of the ball in midfield and ran through on goals  before shooting which Wallace saved .

Two minutes into the second half Nimmo put a ball into Miller who headed over . The opening goal cam a minute later when the referee thought he saw an infringement in the box and Booked Chris Townsley before TOMMY COYNE  scored from the spot just out of reach of Wallace in the right hand corner . Linlithgow doubled their lead when OWEN RONALD was allowed to create room inside the box before crashing a shot from the left hand side in of the right hand post .Nimmo and Miller linked up well to provide the later with a chance that Kyle Marley saved well as it broke to Cameron Ross he was adjudged to have been offside .With an hour on the clock Locke passed back to Craig Scott who’s shot went just over the bar from 25 yards out . Nicholas Locke saw a shot saved for a corner two minutes later . Nimmo saw an attempt on goal go wide left of the target . Owen Ronald saw an effort go wide left from the right hand side of the box . With the last action of the game Blair Batchelor sent a shot towards goal that TOMMY COYNE got his head to, to steer the ball into the net and end the action .

The home side created the first opening when Calvin Muttitt was played through into the box but Craig Purves blocked his shot at the expense of a corner . It was Broxburn who got the goals flowing in 7 minutes when Ross Nimmo gathered the ball in his own half and played a pass through to Alexander Miller who returned the ball to ROSS NIMMO who fired a shot from the right  thirty yards out into the top left  corner giving the keeper no chance . Two minutes later a ball into the box to Chris Townsley from Craig scott was knocked down into the path of Nimmo who saw his shot tipped round the post for a corner . On thirteen minutes a loose ball into the box was picked up by Cameron Ross who saw his shot blocked on the line for a corner . With twenty minutes on the clock  Nicholas Locke ran through and shot from twenty yards the ball was blocked and deflected to Miller but the striker could not get enoght power on his shot and Callum Reid saved comfortably in the home goal . Broxburn were dealt a blow when Jack Beasley hobbled off after 23 minutes and Euan McGill replaced the full back . Heriot Watt had their best spell after this before the visitors regrouped . With 26 minutes  Arron Singh made a good run down the left before shooting wide right from inside the box . A minute later Neil Laurenson  tried a shot from twenty yards out central to the goals but his shot went wide left of the upright . The visitors had an escape when a loose ball was not cleared properly by Nimmo and Arron Singh won the ball inside the box and as Connor Wallace came out to stop him he shot past the keeper and was unlucky to see his shot come of the far right post and was cleared from the danger area . On the 39th minute mark Jack Spence shot wide right for the home side . A corner at the other end with four minutes left found Connor Kelly who’s header was cleared of the line . Broxburn got a cushion to go into half time with  two minutes remaining of the half when a long ball down the right was chased and caught by Connor Kelly who cut along the bye line before crossing to the back post for ALEXANDER MILLER  to head home . Connor Wallace saved from Arron Singh in the last minute of the half but it would not half counted as he was flagged for offside .

Broxburn increased their lead in 53 minutes when a ball out on the right to Kelly who then crossed into the box and ALEXANDER MILLER  met it with his head to score in the bottom right hand corner . A fourth was added on 63 minutes when Cameron Ross set up ALEXANDER MILLER  who scored at the second attempt to complete his hat trick . The fifth came two minutes later when Nimmo played CONNOR KELLY through and the striker slotted home from just inside the box .  Miller had a chance with quarter of an hour to go but pulled his shot wide of the target . The sixth came from the penalty spot on 80 minutes when Eaun McGill was fouled twice running into the box and CAMERON ROSS  stepped up to the spot and gave Callum Reid no chance to score on his debut . Broxburn were in seventh heaven when Euan McGill fired in a free kick from wide left for NICHOLAS LOCKE  to turn the ball home as he came in at the back post from the right hand side .  The last chance of the half came in the last minute when Cameron Ross fired a shot wide right .A good performance from the walking wounded and the guys that came in done a good job . Only disappointment was another injury to our long list .Bud Porteous is going to be busy man this week as we prepare for our away game at Linlithgow Rose with a 2-30pm kick

With a cold wind sweeping down the park it was Nicholas Locke who warmed the opposing keeper up in 3 minutes when he tried an effort from 25 yards out . Connor Kelly was thwarted by Darren Walker in the visitors goal after a good ball through the defence . Ross Nimmo made room on the edge of the box before firing a shot from the right hand side that just missed the corner of the up right and bar on the left . The opening goal came after 16 minutes when a good ball deep into the box was headed back into the path of CONNOR KELLY by Nicholas Locke for him to fire home from 12 yards out .Two minutes later Taylor Hendry weaved his way into the box before shooting wide right . Scott Richards tried a snap shot from the left hand side that Walker dealt with comfortably . Nicholas Locke had two bites at the cherry trying to force the ball home but Walker saved at his feet the second time . Half way through the half Nimmo played Alexander Miller into the box where the striker was brought down and a penalty was awarded immediately . Gordon Donaldson  stepped up to take the penalty and Walker saved his kick before GORDON DONALDSON turned the rebound into the net .That is four penalties in four games that Broxburn have failed to bulge the net from the twelve yard mark . Just after the half hour mark a well worked free kick initially by Jack Beasley and Nicholas Locke ,  the ball was sent into the box where Conor Kelly turned and did not get any power in his shot and Walker saved easily .A good ball into the box was fired past his own goal by Corey Robertson for a corner .When the corner came in Miller headed wide after a free header in the middle of the goals .

Broxburn started the second half on top but it was Shaun Conlon who ran into the box going wide left before turning his shot from a tight angle into the side netting  on 50 minutes . Taylor Hendry got a chance inside the box on the hour mark that was saved by Paul Grant .Scott Richards sent in a good free kick on 65 minutes that found the head of Chris Townsley but the big defender could not hit target and it went over the bar . Two minutes later Nicholas Locke fired a free kick from twenty five yards out slightly left that was heading fro the top right hand corner before Darren Walker tipped the ball over for a corner at full stretch . Kelly and Binnie combined to force a save from Walker with five minutes remaining . The third goal came with two minutes remaining when a ball deep into the box was forced over the line eventually by CONNOR KELLY  .

A comfortable win really good first half with the second half almost forgettable but for some weird decision’s being made by the officials that had both sides wondering what was going on . We move on to next week’s game at Herriot Watt University with a 3-00pm kick off

The first opportunity came in 3 minutes when Preston Athletic were awarded a free kick slightly right of centre just outside the box but Connor Wallace gathered the attempt comfortably . A minute later a back header by the visiting defence fell to Alexander Miller but he miss hit his volley and it went into the arms of the keeper . Miller put a good ball into the box from a cut back and a couple of chances were created but none taken . In seven minutes Donovan Ndiweni tried his luck but was well wide left . Ross Nimmo put a good cross into the box but a misunderstanding saw Miller take the ball away from the head of Binnie at the back of him . A chance was scorned when Dale Pennycuick dived full stretch to save a ball round the post the referee never seen it and was giving a corner before the assistant brought it to his attention .Surprisingly no cards shown .Craig Scott took the penalty but Craig Pennycuick saved and the ball rebounded to Scott who crashed it off the bar and over . Just after the half hour mark Nicholas Locke sent a header goal bound but Craig Pennycuick had a great save tipping it over the bar . Five minutes later a mis header from Craig Purves allowed Dylon Weldon in on goal but Connor Wallace done well to save .

Broxburn went straight into the attack from the start of the second half and won a corner . Greg Binnie saw a shot saved on 47 minutes . Locke fired a free kick off the defensive wall for a corner on 53 minutes . The corner came into the box and was cleared out as far as Craig Scott who shot over the bar . The opening goal came on 57 minutes when NICHOLAS LOCKE gathered the ball in the centre of the park drove forward before firing into the bottom left hand corner from just outside the box on the right .  Preston got on level terms when a ball through caused mayhem in the home defence and a Preston player  was fouled in the box before it broke out to Ndiweni who cracked a shot off the right hand post but the referee brought it back to award a penalty which DYLAN WELDON stepped up to score . Ndiwani saw Wallace save well from him on 66 minutes . Broxburn took the lead on 75 minutes when a Jack Beasley free kick into the box was met by ALEXANDER MILLER who turned the ball home inside the six yard box . Nicholas Locke and Ross Nimmo combined well to create a chance but it was defended for a corner . Broxburn created the first chance on five minutes when Ross Nimmo got down the right and crossed into the box where Dean Shaw punched off the head of Conor Kelly to clear the danger . It was going to be a dour battle .Alexander Miller saw a shot blocked by the defence on 15 minutes . Ross Cameron tried a speculative shot from thirty five yards out that sailed well over the bar . Good play from the visitors half way through the half on the edge of the penalty box finished when Alan Docherty fired a shot that was easily saved by Wallace in the home goals . Nimmo was denied just after the half hour mark by good defending . On 34 minutes the closest chance came when Miller tried to flick it past Shaw but the keeper saved well . A few minutes later the striker saw a shot blocked and cleared from danger .  Camelon created a chance with six minutes remaining of the half but this time Docherty shot wildly over the bar . The last and closest effort came in the dying minutes off the half when a corner came into the box and Miller’s effort was cleared off the line and away from the area .

All watching the game were hoping for better fare in the second half and it was the home side who almost scored in the opening minutes when Nicholas Locke made room for a shot but his effort went over the bar . Connor Wallace saved at the feet of Ryan Kane on fifty minutes at the expense of a corner . two minutes later Docherty ran into the box from the left and Wallace blocked his effort at his near post .The corner came in and Donald Morrison headed wide of the right upright . A long ball over the defence for Miller was met on the edge of his box by Shaw . An hour gone and the quality was not getting any better when a ball in from the left was just too high for the attacking  Ross Cameron . The goal came after 64 minutes when ROSS CAMERON got the ball in the middle of the box and went slightly wide right before turning and rolling the ball past Wallace from an angle . Kieran Anderson saw an effort from 25 yards out wide left go just wide of the left post .The same player saw the sane result  on the 80 minute mark . Jack Beasley sent a good long ball into the box with six minutes remaining but there were not takers of the chance created . With four minutes left on the clock an opportunity to get on level terms when Miller knocked a ball forward to Locke who was then brought down in the box and the home side were rewarded a penalty . Conor Kelly stepped up and his tame shot was saved directly at him by Dean Shaw . It was not to be our day we know we can and must do better .With no game until a week on Tuesday against Preston Athletic in the Football Nations Cup ,it will give time for all the niggling knocks and players coming back from injury to fully recover .The Preston Athletic match is on Tuesday the 30th of October with a 7-30pm kick off  .

In what was going to be a tight game it was Christopher Dodd who had the first opportunity for the hosts after 4 minutes when he fired in a shot that didn’t trouble Connor Wallace in the visitors goal . Four minutes later a corner in from the left saw Christopher Anton get a free header but it went wide right of the target . Broxburn created a chance on ten minutes when Greg Binnie got down the right and crossed into the box where Connor Kelly headed over the bar . The visitors had strong claims for a penalty when Kelly was fouled in the box but the referee waved away claims .  On sixteen minutes a corner in from the left was met by Nicholas Locke who was adjudged to have deliberately handled the ball and was booked for his trouble .Jack Beasley got down the right in twenty minutes but his cross into the box was inches to far in front of the incoming Binnie . two minutes later Dodd made room twenty five yards out to shoot but fired it over the bar . On 38 minutes Ross Nimmo sent a ball into the box that Binnie headed wide when unchallenged  .With four minutes left of the half Dodd’s saw a shot blocked for a corner by Christopher Townsley .

The hosts took the lead in the first minute of the second half when a ball in from the left found GARY FERGUS at the back of the box and he fired home . Two minutes later Dodd’s found Wallace at his best saving from him at the expense of a corner . Nicholas Locke got on the end of a free kick deep into the opponents box but he headed wide right of the target . The equaliser did come on the hour mark when Nimmo laid the ball off to Andrew Gillen who put the ball into the box and found GORDON DONALDSON who scored to level the match . Fergus had a good opportunity to regain the lead two minutes later with a free header  from a corner but it went wide left . The hosts did take the lead on 62 minutes when a ball into the box was knocked back out and as the Broxburn defence moved out the ball was lobbed over them where clearly three Jeanfield players were offside but no flag was raised by the assistant and CHRISTOPHER DODD slotted the ball home .  Wallace had to tip a shot over the bar two minutes later . with ten minutes remaining Dodd’s saw an effort cleared off the line  . Extra time was needed when with two minutes remaining Greg Binnie knocked on a long ball over the home defence for CONOR KELLY to run on to and score  to extend the game .

In the first period of extra time Conor Kelly came close on 100 minutes when his shot from the left went just wide of the right hand post .Craig Scott was set up by Binnie two minutes later but his effort went wide left of the goals .

The hosts took the lead in the first minute of the second period of extra time when Rhys Davies was through and Wallace saved his effort for a corner .When the corner came in it fell into the middle of the box where AARON WHITEHEAD prodded the ball home .. With the visitors trying to get another equaliser  Jeanfield secured their passage with the last kick of the ball when a quick throw found RICHARD DONOVAN in the box and he scored  before the referee blew for time up at the restart . A bare bones squad today but everyone gave their all and were maybe unfortunate to go out the cup .

In a very tactical match the first chance came after 14 minutes  when a ball into the box was met by Christopher Townsley who put Conor Kelly through but his shot came off the bar and over .Three minutes the deadlock was broken when a Kelly shot was only parried by Calum Reid in the visitors goal and GORDON DONALDSON  was on hand to lob the ball over the keeper into the net . A. minute later it was 2-0 when the visiting defence was put under pressure by Greg Binnie and forced a pass back to his keeper who miss hit it into the path of ROSS NIMMO in the middle of the box and he had the simplest task to find the back of the net . Ross Nimmo put a good ball into the box on 26 minutes but it was cleared by the defence . With six minutes left of the half Conor Kelly did well to get to the bye line before finding Nimmo who in turn set up Binnie  , but the later sent his shot over the bar . A corner to the home side with two minutes left was met by the head of Shaun Harrison but it went wide right .

Broxburn had an opportunity to increase their lead five minutes into the second half when Conor Kelly was brought down in the box  and when he stepped up to take the penalty award Calum Reid saved and his defence got the danger cleared  . Ross Nimmo made good room coming in from the right for a shot but it went over the bar . A dangerous ball into the box was cleared over the bar by Christopher Townsley . On 61 minutes Binnie made a good run into the box but his cross was cut out for a corner . Shaun Harrison had two chances from successive corners his first was deflected past the target and his second was a free header that sailed over the bar . The points were sealed on 71 minutes when Ross Nimmo played a great ball through to CONOR KELLY who went past the keeper before lobbing the ball goal wards and despite desperate defending the ball found the net . Greg Binnie had a header on 73 minutes that went safely into Reid’s arms . Heriot Watt got a consolation goal on 74 minutes when a corner into the box was cleared out right but still in the box when Michael Linton clumsily challenged the forward giving the visitors a penalty which Captain AIDAN QUINN made no mistake from the 12 yard mark . Justin Hogg had a good ball across the box cut out by Connor Wallace . With time running down Nicholas Locke turned and shot forcing a great save from Reid . Another three points in the bag see’s us keep our top spot .With three cup ties coming up only time will tell if we are top by the end off the month .Tough cup ties start next week away to Jeanfield Swifts in the South Challenge cup .

The first opportunity came on 4 minutes when a Nicholas Locke ball into the box was cleared out as far as Craig Scott who shot just over the bar . Four minutes late A Locke effort was tipped over the bar . The same player a minute later saw an effort from 30yards out go wide left of the target . The visitors had a chance on ten minutes when Scott Russell forced Connor Wallace to save turning the ball past his left hand post for a corner . The opening goal came after 11 minutes when SCOTT RICHARDS got the ball on the left hand side of the box and played a ball across the box which deceived everyone and found the far bottom corner of the net . A minute later the scoreline was doubled when Richards floated a ball into the heart of the penalty area where GREG BINNIE was totally unmarked and he guided his header into the top left hand corner of the net . Scott Richards should have scored a minute later but saw his effort saved . On fifteen minutes Craig Scott saw an effort well saved . It was Nicholas Locke’s turn a minute later to be denied by Adam Shaw in the visitors goal . The third goal did come half way through the half when Binnie got the ball on the right of the box and laid it off to CRAIG SCOTT just inside the  box and he guided it into the far left bottom corner . Locke set up Connor Kelly on 28 minutes when he put the striker in on goal but the defender cleared for a corner . When the corner came in it was cleared to outside the box where Scott fired just over the bar . It was 4-0 after 33 minutes when Greg Binnie sent a fierce cross along the ground into the box and was met by SCOTT RICHARDS six yards out to turn the ball home . On 40 minutes Ryan Cowie fired a free kick from just outside the box past the right hand post . Broxburn went nap with three minutes left of the half when great play into the box was cleared out to CRAIG SCOTT who fired a rocket in off the bar giving Shaw no chance .

Three minutes into the second half Broxburn had a chance cleared of the line . Nihai Bogatu had a chance on the right hand side of the box but his attempt was deflected for a corner by Jack Beasley . On the hour mark Conor Kelly ran with the ball across the box shepherded by a defender who eventually cleared for a throw in .  Inverkeithing had a succession of corner’s on the 63 minute mark . Craig Scott had another shot from 20 yards out sail over the bar on 65 minutes . Greg Binnie saw a shot go wide right of the target on 73 minutes . Kelly thought he had got the elusive goal but his attempt was blocked and cleared . A minute later Binnie was disappointed when a ball in from the left found him in front of goals but he turned the ball wide left from six yards out . Two chances in the last few minutes when balls into the box seemed to bounce of everybody and block the goal all though afterwards the visiting keeper did confess he clawed a ball from over the line back into play that the officials did not pick up on . .Good performance first half bit disappointing the second half but we move on to Saturdays home game against Heriot Watt University with a 2-30pm kick off .
