With both sides trying to out guess the other the early stages were cagy with Boness coming close in 6 minutes when a ball played through came of Purves’s head and fell to the feet of Roddy Maclennan who should have done better than blast over the bar unchallenged .Five minutes later Connor Wallace turned over a Ross Philp effort .The opening goal came on fourteen minutes when a corner swung in to the back post was met by the head of COLIN STRICKLAND to bullet the ball home .Two minutes later Broxburn were level when Anderson squared a ball across the box and found ROSS NIMMO who shot under the keeper to score . Broxburn had a chance on 28 minutes when Kieron Anderson fired in a free kick from 30 yards out but the keeper coped with it easily . On the half hour mark Stuart Hunter had a great chance but headed over the bar broxburn nearly took the lead when Darren Gribben made a great run and put a great ball into the path Of Kieron Anderson but Scott Christie in the visitors goal cut it out just in the nick f time .
Broxburn had an early chance in the second half when Anderson put a great ball into Alexander Miller but seen his ball turn past the post .Just past the hour mark and the visitors took the lead when a ball was not defended properly it fell to MICHAEL GEMMIL just out side the box and he fired it through a cluster of players into the net . Half way through the half and Anderson whipped a great ball into the danger area but was just out of reach of his team mates . The points were sealed with ten minutes to go A run down the right to the bye line then a cross to the back of the penalty area where substitute MARTIN WRIGHT had all the time he needed to pick his spot and score .

On a bitterly cold day with a biting wind going down the park it was always going to take time to get going .Broxburn were the first to have a shot at goals after five minutes when Scott Richards shot wide left . Five minutes later Kieron Anderson done well to turn and shoot but saw his attempt go over the bar .On the quarter hour mark a great ball into the box was just to far in front of his team mates .two minutes later Scott McNaughton set up Scott Richards and some how Jordan Mushet in the Y.M. goals managed to block his attempt at goal and the ball was cleared .Kirkcaldy opened the scoring on twenty minutes when a ball into midfield was picked up by SCOTT SMALL who fired home from thirty yards with Donoghue slipping as he attempted to get across to the ball . The visitors upped the pace and good play from Anderson saw him attempt a lob over the keeper but Mushet got back to pluck the ball out the air . Adam Doig had a shot that went wide left on 26 minutes .Craig Scott saw a shot tipped round the post for a corner . Just past the half hour mark Nicholas Locke turned and shot but the keeper again turned it past the post .The same player made a good run down the right and put a great ball across the box but there were no takers .
The second half started with Broxburn on the attack and KIERON ANDERSON scored a great goal after turning defenders he fired home to level the scoring 3 minutes into the second half . A minute later Craig Scott saw the keeper cut out his cross . On 53 minutes Anderson created a chance but saw the keeper again turn the ball past the post . Craig Scott hit the post on 57 minutes .On the hour mark Mushet again denied the visitors with a double save from Darren Downie and Locke . A minute later Anderson and Locke made a good one two with Locke’s shot saved . Sixty five minutes on the clock and pressure was beginning to tell on the home defence as they visibly started to fail to compete with the onslaught on their goal .Ross Nimmo on for Michael Linton forced a double save of Mushet .Darren Downie was next to test the keeper as he proved to be coping with the shot’s fired at him . On seventy minutes there was nothing he could do as Arthur handled the ball in the box and KIERON ANDERSON scored from the spot kick . On seventy four minutes Ross Nimmo broke down the right and saw his shot tipped by the far post for a corner . Kieron Anderson fired in a corner on seventy minutes and CRAIG PURVES met it at the back post to head home .Darren Downie was again foiled by the keeper who saved with his feet to stop more scoring .With 10 minutes left a great ball to the back post area by Anderson was met by ALEXANDER MILLER who made no mistake from eight yards out . Alexander Miller thought he had scored again four minutes later but saw his shot well saved . The best goal of the game came with a minute left when NICHOLAS LOCKE juggled the ball past two defenders then another and another before firing home past the keeper by the way of the back left post . Overall A competent performance and progress in another cup .

Penicuik wrapped up the points in the first half as they stormed to a 4-1 interval lead .From the kick off Nicholas Locke made a great run and his attempt at goal was turned behind for a corner .Michael Linton saw a shot from 35 yards go just wide of the left hand post on three minutes . Two minutes later A ball played out to the left found Ross Montgomery who crossed into the box and found KEITH LOUGH totally unmarked in the middle of the box to shoot past the unprotected Connor Wallace in goals .Penicuik doubled their lead seven minutes later when a ball through the defence found AARON SOMERVILLE with only Wallace to beat and he fired into the bottom left hand corner . Darrell Young could have made it three but Connor saved his header well and the chance was cleared . Half way through the half Youssef Bejaoui in the hosts goal made a great one handed save from Kieron Anderson .On thirty five minutes it was 3-0 when another ball into the box was headed home unchallenged into the net by DARRELL YOUNG . A corner into the box saw the visitors get back into the game when the ball was cleared back out to Anderson he put the ball back in and after a bit of panicky defending the ball fell to ROSS DONNELLY to prod the ball home from close range . A minute before half time Penicuik gave them selves a three goal cushion with AARON SOMERVILLE got on the end of a ball into the box to score his second . On the half time whistle a great run and ball into the box was cut out with visiting forwards ready to pounce .
The second have started well for Broxburn with a goal back right away when substitute Scott Richards put a ball through to KIERON ANDERSON who made no mistake from 16 yards out . Four minutes into the half the hosts again went three in front when a corner into the box was headed home by CRAIG HUME despite the protests of the visitors for a foul on Wallace the goal stood . An hour gone and Broxburn were taking control of the match >Richards saw his shot smothered at a second attempt by Bejaoui .Almost half way through the half and Arron Somerville saw his diving header from 18 yards go just wide left . SCOTT RICHARDS cut the deficit on 70 minutes when he made no mistake from his opportunity to score . Broxburn pressed and pressed but The home defence stood up to the pressure with Scott Richards coming closest with a shot coming off the bar late on .Bit of a mountain to climb on our first half performance .

This will be considered two points dropped today as we fought out a stalemate 1-1 draw .We started well and looked like taking the game but allowed Newtongrange to get into the game and probably a draw was a fair result on the day . On 4 minutes we had a great chance of opening the scoring after good play down the right a ball into the box was turned behind for a corner of the post by the visiting defence . A minute later Craig Scott saw an effort from the right turned behind for a corner past the left hand post .Alexander Miller saw a chance hit the post on eight minutes . Broxburn were piling on the opening pressure and a Locke ball turned back across the box found no takers . The visitors having soaked up the opening pressure should have opened the scoring on fifteen minutes when good play across the edge of the hosts penalty area say Stuart Roseburgh shoot poorly wide .Roseburgh turned provider for Lee Currie who shot went well over the bar . On 26 minutes the Broxburn stood back and allowed Currie a free shot at goals about 8 yards out but in disbelief at his chance he shot wildly wide and it went out for a throw in when he should have scored . Near the end of the first half Roseburgh made good space down the left but his cross into the box went straight to Wallace in the host’s goal . They did open the scoring when a break away saw KYLE LANDER run towards the box and fired a shot away that took a wicked deflection and spun past the helpless Wallace into the net .
Broxburn came out the second half determined to get back in the game early . Alexander Miller was set up by substitute Kieron Anderson but the ball would not come down quick enough for the big striker and the defence bundled the ball past the post for a corner . With 52 minutes gone Jordan Cropley saw his free kick from wide left and about 30 yards out saved by the fully stretched Wallace . An hour gone and Lander put a great ball in from the right but found no visiting forwards . Broxburn were on level terms on 64 minutes when a corner was cleared out the box it landed at ROS NIMMO’s feet and he fired a unstoppable shot into the bottom left hand corner from 35 yards .Alexander Miller got his head to a ball into the box from Anderson but his looping header was tipped over by Liam Amos in goals . A minute later Nimmo tried his luck again from range but this time it went well over the bar . Two minutes later the hosts suffered a scare when Jack Wilson had an effort cleared of the line and away from danger . In the last minute Wilson was through on goal clear of the home defence but the advancing Wallace saved well when all thought he had nothing better to do than hit the net . Newtongrange had one last chance in the dying embers of the game when Cropley forced Wallace to be at his best yet again . A draw as I said probably a fair result but we must start getting more points at home if we are to challenge for anything this season .

What a match this was with ourselves coming out on top of a eleven goal thriller . It didn’t start well for us as a long ball caught us out at the back in the first minute and Ben Anthony ran down the left hand side and when reaching the bye line cut it back across the goals for the on running LEWIS McKENZIE TO turn the ball home . two minutes later Alexander Miller crossed for Ross Nimmo who shot well over the bar snatching at his shot . Paul Quinn almost made it 2-0 after nine minutes when he was set up by Anthony but the striker put his shot wide of the goals . Broxburn made them pay a minute later when Moosa Mampuya made a great forward run well into the opponents half and he laid the ball to the feet of SCOTT RICHARDS who fired home giving Lennox no chance . Nicholas Locke saw an attempt go wide after good build up play by the visitors .Two minutes later the hosts took the lead when MCkenzie was sent through on goal on the right hand side of the box and Connor Wallace was adjudged to have brought him down inside the box with PAUL QUINN scoring from the resultant penalty kick . Broxburn equalised on twenty minutes when Richards laid the ball off to NICHOLAS LOCKE who fired home from twenty yards . Just before the half hour great one two between Richards and Moosa saw the later shot saved by Lennox’s outstretched leg .A minute later we had a scare when the ball was cleared from the back post from a Bluebell corner .Nicholas Locke was presented with a penalty kick after Calum rarity pushed Richards as he went for the ball but Lennox made a great save from the captain . Substitute CRAIG SCOTT was played in by Linton and from thirty five yards out he fired a rocket into the top corner to the delight of his team mates . With the time running out on the first half a ball played into the box was handled by the defender and this time ALEXANDER MILLER stepped up and made no mistake from the awarded penalty spot . That was the last action of the half .
The second half started as the first half did .LEWIS McKENZIE went on a run across the park from left to right and fired a shot home from 12 yards . Scott McNaughton forced a save from Lennox after 50 minutes . Broxburn regained their two goal cushion on 55 minutes when Moosa was badly tackled and required treatment .From the free kick Scott Richards floated a ball to the edge of the box and was met by ALEXANDER MILLER who with his back to goal just inside the box he looped a backward header up and over the Diminutive Lennox in the hosts goal .Just before the hour former Broxburn centre half Calum Rarity saw his shot saved by Wallace .ALEXANDER MILLER completed his hat trick in style when running through on goal wide left and from just inside the box he curled a shot into far right top corner giving the keeper no chance .Dundonald were not finished and on 70 minutes a corner into the box was fired goal ward twice and cleared before it broke to PAUL QUINN who prodded the ball home to give his side a lift . They were now pressing hard for more goals to get back in the match and the Broxburn defence defended stoutly . Eighty five minutes on the clock and Scott Richards fired a shot of the post and it broke to Alexander Miller but the striker shot over the bar from an offside position . BRODIE GRAY made it a nervy last couple of minutes for “THE BURN ” when scoring from 22 yards out with two regular minutes left . Despite their best efforts the Bell could not get that elusive equaliser and Broxburn left with three valuable points .

The second half and Bathgate were the first to threaten when David Taylor saw his header come back off the post straight into Wallace’s arms . Broxburn stepped up the game and on 56 minutes Nimmo got down the right and set up Anderson but his shot was well saved .Nicholas Locke saw an effort go just wide of the left hand post .On the hour mark Richards got to the bye line and crossed into the box to the waiting McNaughton but the defender just got there in time to head clear .The goal came 2 minutes later when Kieron Anderson passed an inch perfect pass into the box for the running ROSS NIMMO who made no mistake from twelve yards .Broxburn should have went two up when a ball into the box from Anderson was knocked back across the box by McNaughton at the back who found Richards who headed down to the in the clear Locke who saw his shot saved from six yards .Locke made a great run on seventy minutes and saw his shot from outside the box headed over the bar with the keeper beaten and the ball going goal wards .with Five minutes left Locke hit the bar with a header and the ball was cleared . Broxburn crashed out of the Scottish junior cup going down 3-1 away to Glenafton Athletic . With a patched up squad the lads put in a sterling performance . Broxburn created the first opening on 3 minutes when Anderson put the ball in to Richards but the striker saw his shot go just over . On eleven minutes Conor Lynass tried to get on to a ball at the back end of the box but failed to get a shot away . Wallce in the Burn goals indicated a problem and was replaced by Young Shaun Donoghue .Three minutes later Donoghue made a double save turning the ball around the post for a corner .Half way through the half Richards sent Nimmo down the right and his ball into the box was cut out by the keeper . At the other end Lynass was through on goal but saw his shot saved . Half an hour gone and Scott McNaughton saw a half chance go just wide of the left hand post .Christopher Dallas should have done better when through on goals twice in the the last ten minutes of the half he poorly blasted wildly over the bar .
A minute into the second half and a snap shot by Alan Cairns was saved comfortably .Broxburn went up the other end and Nimmo put a ball into the back end of the penalty box and SCOTT McNaughton STEADIED HIMSELF before curling a shot high into the far corner giving the keeper no chance . Six minutes later the hosts were level when awarded a free kick twenty five yards out DAVID GRAY fired his second free kick in two weeks into the back of the net .Nicholas Locke went on a run into the box two minutes later but saw his attempt saved .Just after the hour mark Dallas headed over from a corner from three yards out .half way through the second half great football created a chance for Mampuya but his shot was desperately cleared of the line .Michael McCann saw a header towards goal saved by Donoghue .Under ten minutes to go a ball into the box was headed on and MICHAEL McCann was in the clear to score easily .Five minutes later the ball was lost in midfield and CAMERON MARLOW scored despite Donoghue getting a hand to the ball . in the dying minutes Shaun Donoghue made a great save to stop more scoring .In the last kick of the ball Ross Nimmo received a harsh second yellow and was subsequently ordered off . A good battling performance but it was not to be .
