Broxburn looked to improve on last weeks performance and keep ourselves in the cup . The first chance fell to us but from a corner the ball was bundled away .Newtongrange should have done better on eleven minutes when a through ball saw Cropley run through and go past the advancing Connor Wallace who raced out his goal wide left .Cropley got the ball into the box but not before defenders and Wallace had regrouped and cleared the danger . A couple of minutes later Linton set up Anderson who tried a shot from 30 yards out but it sailed over the bar . With 19 minutes on the clock a ball into the box caused mayhem in the visiting defence but Broxburn could not take advantage and they cleared the danger from the box . Kieron Anderson put a free kick into the box two minutes later but Nicholas Locke couldn’t get direction on his header and it went wide left of the goal . Broxburn were well on top but could not get the opener their play deserved .Alexander Miller had a shot just before the half hour mark but saw it go over the bar . Nicholas Locke was next to have an opportunity after good play down the left his shot was deflected onto the far right post and away from danger ,Ross Nimmo , Nicholas Locke and Alexander Miller contrived to set up a chance for the later with the striker seeing his attempt blocked and cleared . A Brian Murray effort for the visitors was not far away .Broxburn went up the other end of the pork and Alexander Miller saw his shot saved but the ball was parried into the path of KIERON ANDERSON who saw his first attempt blocked on the line but was quick to react to score at the second attempt .Cropley saw his shot saved after good work down the left by Newtongrange set him up 18 yards out .Nicholas Locke had a chance just before the break after being set up by Miller but the shot was saved .
The second have started in positive mode for the hosts when good one touch football set up Anderson down the right but did not come to nothing . Then Locke saw his attempt at goal saved two minutes later .Broxburn Should have doubled their advantage when Ross Nimmo ran into the box and was challenged by the keeper the ball broke to Locke who was definitely fouled in the box and the penalty was awarded . Kieron Anderson stepped up to take the kick but hit the left hand side of the post as he missed his first penalty of the season .With 55 minutes gone Anderson tried a shot from the wide right but saw his shot go wide left of the far post . Craig Scott sent Anderson through on goals just after the hour mark but shot straight into the hands of the advancing keeper . The visitors drew level on 65 minutes when a free kick came of the defensive wall and broke to JORDAN CROPLEY in the clear and he made no mistake from six yards out . half way through the second half a corner into the box by Anderson was knocked on by Miller who found Craig Scott but the midfielder saw his shot saved down at the bottom right hand corner of the goals . Broxburn had chances but were getting frustrated none were getting taken .The visitors almost took the lead when Neil Martynuik had a free kick slightly left of the east side goals twenty five yards out . His ferocious shot was deflected and hit rattled the right hand post and was cleared from the danger area .The winning goal came with four minutes left on the clock. A ball played down the right was chased by Ross Nimmo who beat the nonchalant keeper to the ball thinking he was favourite to gather the ball before it was too late and the Broxburn forward got to the by line and turned to put in a inch perfect past to KIERON ANDERSON who made no mistake from eight yards out with two defenders on line unable to do anything about it . A deserved win and last eight place secured this continues our unbeaten run since the end of November it would be good to continue that next week at Boness .

Jeanfield Swifts were up for the game from the start and pressurised the visiting defence in the early exchanges .On 11 minutes Liam Baker was put through on goals but rushed his shot and fired over from 18 yards out . Five minutes later Scott Richards and Ross Nimmo both had a chance to score but between them they forced the ball wide of target .Eighteen minutes on the clock and Baker was proving a handful and was unlucky to see an effort blocked by Paterson and cleared from the danger area .Kieron Anderson forced a save from Mark Mitchell in the hosts goals . Swifts thought they had taken the lead when a free kick into the box from wide right into the box was met by Liam Baker who headed home but his celebrations were cut short as the assistant had his flag up for offside .His disappointment was short lived as Jeanfield took the lead two minutes later a ball fired into the box from the left was cut out by the fully stretched Paterson and LIAM BAKER was first to react to the loose ball and turned and fired home from an angle .Ross Nimmo had a shot saved a minute later but it was Jeanfield who piled on the misery on twenty eight minutes when Craig Scott tried to clear the ball it fell to LIAM BAKER twenty yards out he took a few strides past the last defender before scoring in the bottom right hand corner .It was not looking good for the visitors at this stage . Darren Cole could have done better with a header near the end of the first half from a corner kick .
Jeanfield started the second as they had started the first with all the pressure but to no avail . Broxburn almost got one back when great play from Ross Nimmo saw his attempt turned behind for a corner by the keeper . from the corner Alexander Miller headed just over the bar .Broxburn did get one back two minutes later on the hour mark when a free kick 25 yards out and wide of the eighteen yard box was floated into the box by Kieron Anderson and his perfect ball was met by NICHOLAS LOCKE who sent a glancing header high into the far corner .Broxburn had their tails up now and two minutes later Anderson sent a ball into the box but was just too strong for Miller running in. The game was all square on 70 minutes a ball played into the box was cleared Kieron Anderson stopped the ball going out for a bye kick and turned and crossed into the box for ALEXANDER MILLER to head home from four yards out .Six minutes later Nimmo set up Anderson who saw his effort saved . Jeanfield almost regained the advantage when a slick move saw Keith Dewar shoot just wide of the right hand post .With ten minutes left Darren Gribben sent a free kick just over the bar .Broxburn did take the lead with six minutes left .ALEXANDER MILLER chased a ball to the bye line and cut the ball back across the six yard box and found Kieron Anderson at the back of the box who crossed back across the box and the big striker was on his knees when he headed into the empty net. Jeanfield were not to be denied a share of the points as the game went into injury time a corner played into the box was bundled over the line by KEITH DEWAR . Deep in injury time Scott Mollison made a run down the left into th box and crossed across the goals with the ball coming of the cross bar. Darren Gribben had one last chance to take all three points but shot just wide of the target .A share of the points about right but need to improve next week performance wise if we are to continue in the Conservatory Convertors Fife and Lothian’s cup when we play Newtongrange Star at home with a 2-30pm kick off .

A last minute goal rescued a point for the visitors that their second half showing barely deserved .Darren Gribben had a free kick after two minutes but shot into the wall and the chance was gone .Penicuik opened the scoring after 4 minutes when Ross Montgomery was sent free down the left and his perfect ball into the box was met by the unmarked STEPHEN SCOTT who made no mistake in front of goals .Alexander Miller had an effort go over the bar on nine minutes .On fifteen minutes Connar Easton beat Ross Nimmo to the ball into the box by Richards and cleared the chance . Half an hour into the game and Nimmo and Locke set up Scott Richards but Easton saved his attempt .Three minutes later Penicuik doubled their lead .A free kick from the left 40 yards out into the box was headed back across the box and there unmarked again was STEPHEN SCOTT to hammer home his second .Two minutes later Nimmo was set up by Gribben but his shot was just wide of the target . Then Captain Locke had a turn and shot saved two minutes later Broxburn got back in the game in spectacular fashion .Nicholas Locke won the ball in midfield and tried a shot fro 35 yards out on the left it broke of a defender to ROSS NIMMO 25 yards out on the left and he fired a unstoppable shot into the top left hand corner .A minute later Miller saw his shot deflected over the bar for a corner .
Broxburn came out the second half in determined fashion and Nimmo put a ball into the box for Gribben who headed back across goals to ALEXANDER MILLER who showed great skill to get the ball under control and fire home the equaliser . On the hour mark Penicuik almost were gifted the lead when Darren Cole misjudged his back header but thankfully for the defender it went past the post . The hosts took the lead five minutes later when Gribben sent a great ball through to Locke who was fouled as he past out left to SCOTT RICHARDS but good advantage was shown by the referee Peter Stuart and Scott shot into the bottom right hand corner sending the keeper the wrong way .Darren Gribben saw his delicate shot from 30 yards out come back of the bar with Easton beaten .Penicuik’s equaliser came in the last minute when a corner kick into the back of the six yard box by Ryan Gay was met unchallenged by DARRELL YOUNG who headed home . One last opportunity in the dying minutes came from Nichlas Locke who saw his goalbound shot from a free kick saved brilliantly by Connar Easton ..Overall a draw fair result all though both camps may have cause to be disappointed as the game was a game of two half’s .

KIRRIEMUIR took the game to their Superleague opponents from the off and after four minutes Darren Scott made a great run down the right and into the box where he saw his shot saved and Craig Purves was on hand to mop up and concede the corner . A minute later they did open the scoring when the pacey Scott got down the left and cut the ball back to STEWART RUSSELL on the edge of the box and he fired home into the bottom corner .At the other end two minutes later Sean Diamond made a double save first from Nimmo then from Miller to keep his side in front .The equaliser did come on eleven minutes when Nimmo sent Gribben down the left and a great ball into the box was met by ALEXANDER MILLER who made no mistake .This spurred the visitors on and two minutes later Broxburn took the lead in similar fashion as Gribben sent Captain Locke down the left and his ball cut across the box was again met by ALEXANDER MILLER who was clinical in his finish . The visitors were in charge and two minutes later Miller saw a shot just go over the bar when sent through on goal. A minute later Nimmo was through on goal and the keeper saved at the wingers feet . Half way through the half and Locke set up Ross Nimmo who saw the keeper save his attempt . Two minutes later Broxburn were to rue those missed chances as Kirrie Thistle drew level .A free kick out wide left was floated into the box and BRYAN DUELL rose to head home unchallenged to level the scores .Duell almost gave his side the lead when he shot after twisting his body, but saw his shot shave the left hand post . Broxburn regained the advantage on 57 minutes when a crude foul on Nimmo set up a chance from a free kick just outside the box slightly wide right of centre .DARREN GRIBBEN stepped up to take the kick and fired into the top corner an unstoppable shot to the delight of his team mates . The hosts were not out of it and a quick free kick produced an opportunity but Wallace saved the shot . Just after the hour mark Darren Scott thought he had scored but Connor Wallace produced the save of the game tipping the ball over the bar .Miller had a chance when through on goal on 70 minutes but good defending thwarted the chance . The game was all square on 76 minutes a free kick into the box ,from wide left, was headed on to the right hand side of the box then headed back into the box where BRYAN DUELL made no mistake to equalise .The hosts had a couple of more chances to win the match first when Scott Drumm headed over from a corner and then Duell saw his hat trick attempt turned round the post for a corner . With no more scoring it was down to the dreaded penalty shoot out . Broxburn Went first through Alexander miller but shot over the bar .Darren Scott was next for the hosts and his shot towards the bottom corner was saved well by Connor Wallace ,Ross Nimmo was next to take a spot kick and he made no mistake . Broxburn started well at Carmuirs Park today and were denied an opener by the match officials when Alexander Miller beat David Kane in the home goals in a challenge for the ball on the edge of the box and slotted home only for the foul to be given for the challenge as they thought the keeper had the loose ball in his hands and under control . On five minutes the hosts had thought they had scored when Jason deans saw his shot saved and the ball broke to David O’Brien who fired home but was adjudged to have been offside when the ball was played through . The opener came after fourteen minutes when a free kick awarded ten yards inside the visitors half out on the right was floated into the back of the box where STUART BELL out jumped Frazer Paterson to head home .On twenty minutes a great ball from Craig Scott to Ross Nimmo wide right saw the winger cut the ball back to Michael Linton who’s shot was turned round the post for a corner .From the corner Alexander Miller headed wide left . Half way through the half and Nimmo and Linton set up a chance for Nicholas Locke but the captains shot went over the bar . On 34 minutes Nimmo put a great ball into the box from the bye line but David Kane smothered the ball and the danger was averted .
Broxburn started the second half well and in the first minute Miller saw his header from an Anderson corner saved .Two minutes later Anderson put a ball into the box from the left and it broke back out to him and he curled a shot just over the bar with the keeper beaten .The visitors continued to put pressure on the home defence and Kieron Anderson was sent through on goal but good defending saw him robbed of his chance for a corner . Half way through the second half and Camelon should have doubled their lead on three occasions as the ball was put back and forward across the Burn’s goal mouth with no takers for the host’s . Craig Donaldson could have gave his side a cushion when sent free on a counter attack but rushed his shot 30 yards out and it sailed over the bar .The equaliser came with six minutes remaining when Anderson played a ball into the edge of the box and was met by the head of Miller who headed it into the path of ROSS NIMMO who should great composure to hold of the challenge of the big defender before slotting home under the keeper .In injury time Alan Sneddon ran through on a long ball but saw his shot well saved by Connor Wallace and the ball broke up the park through Miller who got to the bye line wide on the right before crossing to the back post where he found Darren Gribben who mishit his shot into the side net when all were waiting for the net to bulge . A draw was the least we deserved today and we go into next week’s game away to Broughty with confidence of keeping the unbeaten run going .

Craig Scott and Grant Gavin combined with the later shooting just wide on 55 minutes . On the hour mark Carnoustie could have got back in the game when a corner came in it fell to Ryan Roche but he fired wildly over .Five minutes after that chance the visitors were punished with a double whammy when Ross Nimmo fired in a cross into the box it almost deceived the keeper and he looked lively to tip it round hid post .From the corner by Anderson the ball found a crowded six yard box and CRAIG PURVES got the credit for forcing the ball home to seal the three points .On 76 minutes Downie and Nimmo combined and saw Cormack pull off a fine save . With ten minutes left how Carnoustie did not get the ball over the line when played into the box Sam Simpson shot and as it was saved he tried again but could not get contact on the ball properly and a combination of defenders cleared the danger .The last chance fell to the visitors in the last minute when a corner played in was headed by Jamie McCabe and it came off the corner of cross bar and upright and then cleared out the danger area .Three comfortable points and a good finish to the year .
