This was a big chance to get to the last four and the players took it with a very polished professional performance . As early as the fifth minute Kieran Anderson saw a free kick flash past the post .A minute later a great passing move saw it finish when the ball broke to Ryan Baptie who saw his effort saved .Shaun Conlon for the visitors had an effort saved on eight minutes . Anderson had an effort sail over the bar two minutes later . Then Ross Nimmo was sent down the right and saw his effort go just past the far left post .The goalscoring was opened on the sixteenth minute when Nicholas Locke broke down the right and crossed into ALEXANDER MILLER who made no mistake .The second came on 23 minutes when Darren Cole played the ball into the box and KIERAN ANDERSON scored at the back post .Anderson was provider for ALEXANDER MILLER to score his second . Baptie put the ball into the box but found no takers just after the half hour mark .With eight minutes left of the half Nicholas Locke got down the left and cut the ball into Baptie who saw his effort saved by Asher Tufail . ALEXANDER MILLER got his hat trick on the stroke of half time from a corner .
Broxburn started the second the way they finished the first half with A good run and ball into Anderson but the keeper stopped his effort .Ross Nimmo saw an effort saved 5 minutes later .Just before the hour mark Anderson got down the left and his ball into the box went wide right . The hosts went nap on 63 minutes when Ross Nimmo got down the right and played into the unmarked KIERAN ANDERSON who scored his second of the night . Two minutes later a sixth goal found the net when Baptie put an effort in on goal and it broke to Nimmo who put the ball on to SCOTT RICHARDS who scored . Anderson saw a shot well saved two minutes later before ROSS NIMMO got the seventh when Craig Scott put the ball out to Richards who set up the chance for him . Darren Gribben had an effort which went just past the near left hand post . Gabriele Auriemma had a good effort well saved with three minutes remaining . SCOTT RICHARDS got his second and his side’s eighth when he gathered the ball outside the box and was strong to hold off the defenders challenging him to fire home . With a minute left ROSS NIMMO was sent clear and made no mistake with only the keeper to beat . A good performance where despite it being easier than most superleague matches the players stuck to their tasks and finished the full ninety minutes in top gear .

With a wild wind blowing silky soccer was not going to be on the agenda . On five minutes a long ball through to Darren Gribben but the ball was just too long and went through to the keeper . Three minutes later Kieran Anderson fired in a free kick from out on the left which the keeper turned round his right hand post as it headed for the top corner . Fauldhouse were presented with a chance on eleven minutes when a Gribben Miskick fell to Anthony Higgins on the edge of the box but his shot was deflected over the bar for a corner . Broxburn went up the other end two minutes later when Scott Richards put a ball over the top for Anderson but his shot was weak and straight at the keeper as he stretched for the ball . On the quarter hour mark a corner in from the right caused mayhem in the United box as it went back and forward three times with no visiting forward taking the opportunity to turn the ball home . A free kick into the box found the head of Alexander Miller who headed the ball back across the box to Scott Richards who could not get any power in his header John Connolly gathered the ball with ease . Fauldhouse almost scored with seven minutes of the half remaining with a neat one two and ball into the box found Higgins who saw his shot turned around the post . It was Broxburn who took the lead a minute later when a long ball through the middle looked as though it was going safely through to Connolly in the host goals but Darren Gribben pressured him and he hit the ball of the opponent and Gribben caught the ball at the bye line before crossing into the path off ALEXANDER MILLER to fire home unchallenged . On the stroke of half time Anderson set up Miller but the striker’s shot went over the bar .
Broxburn almost doubled their lead on fifty minutes when Gribben set up Anderson but with space running out on the left he tried to score from a tight angle but the ball drifted past the far right post .The hosts equalised a minute later when a ball through to Scott Sally set him up but Connor Wallace in the visitors goal brought him down before he got his shot away . ANTHONY HIGGINS scored from the resulting penalty . Broxburn restored their advantage on fifty five minutes when Craig Purves sent Anderson down the left and his ball into DARREN GRIBBEN was perfect for him to put the ball away .The visitors increased the advantage on 58 minutes when superb play created on the left by Kieran Anderson gave him room to cross in to the box for ALEXANDER MILLER to head home .Gribben set up Browne with a header but it was saved just after the hour mark . Broxburn had control of the game at this stage and Gribben saw a shot go sailing over the bar .On 65 minutes Maccauley Wilson saw his long range attempt go just past the post . Half way through the half Anderson created a chance but saw it deflected for a corner . A ball down the line for Miller enabled him to cross into the box for Anderson but it was just too far in front of the later . Fauldhouse had a purple patch with quarter of an hour to go . A good ball into the box saw Anthony Higgins have a shot that was blocked and cleared . It was Maccauley Wilson next to have a shot but saw it go past the post on the left hand side . Aiden Ward was next to have a crack at goals but his shot went over the bar .With seven minutes remaining Anderson ball into the box was punched clear by Connolly . A minute later Craig Purves went down the right and his ball into the box was met by Anderson who’s first two shots were blocked and his third attempt went just past the post .The final chance came in the last minute when a good ball into the box by Purves was met by the head of Richards but his header went over the bar . A good win in difficult conditions set’s us up for the cup tie on Wednesday night against Edinburgh United .Lots of positives today with players getting much needed game time that some had been lacking and good performance’s through out the side made it a good day at the office .

Broxburn started well and Kieron Anderson looked as though he had scored after two minutes but was booked for handling the ball in the process .In what was proving to be an uninspiring half Linlithgow fired over the bar from a free kick 25 yards out and central from Stewart Devine . .On twenty minutes controversy as Kieron Anderson shot from 30 yards out the ball came of the head off the Linlithgow Rose defender and the ball was deflected away from the diving Darren Hill who managed to parry the ball into the path of Alexander Miller who shot home but was ruled to have been offside when the original shot was fired in ,this has been proved not to have been the case as shown on Linlithgow Rose TV. Half way through the half a ball over the top to Conor Kelly gave the Rose player a chance but was offside .Anderson tried to set up Miller on thirty four minutes but the ball in to the striker was just to strong .Approaching half time and Blair Batchelor saw his shot blocked by Nicholas Locke . On the stroke of half time Craig Purves sent a free kick towards Anderson but his shot went agonisingly bye the post .
Broxburn started the second half the way they did the first this tim a Ross Nimmo effort was cut out for a corner after two minutes .Grant Gavin up for a corner shot just wide after being put in by Purves . Liam Coogans tried to curl one in after 50 minutes but saw it go just wide of the right hand post .Two minutes later Sean Mushi saw his poor free kick easily saved by Connor Wallace .The same player had another opportunity on the hour mark this time going tamely wide of target . At the other end Scott Richards rued not getting power on his shot as Hill saved easily . Nimmo made a good run into the box and set up Miller who’s shot was blocked and the danger was cleared .Moving into the last quarter and Gary Thom saw his header go wide left of the target . The only goal of the game came after seventy two minutes when a corner into the box was headed of the bar by Colin Leiper and it broke out to GARY THOM who fired it home from just inside the box . Broxburn started pushing harder for the equaliser but were finding it difficult to penetrate the visiting defence With time running out Mark Williams was given a golden opportunity but after dribbling his way into the box he saw his shot saved . Broxburn had the Rose defence pushed back as they tried to defend their lead and they managed to hold out as the hosts set up a number of late chances but none taken .

Broxburn faced a tough task to progress to the Quarter final of the DJ Laing East of Scotland cup .Broxburn took the game to their visitors in the first minute when Anderson got down the left and crossed into the box but the defence turned it by for a corner .From the corner Gavin headed over the bar .Broughty had a good attack down the left and when played into Daniel Cavanagh he shot over the bar . On thirteen minutes Ross Nimmo dispossessed the brought defender and was through one on one with the keeper but Iain Ross came out to save at his feet and clear the ball up the park .Broughty went on the counter attack and Stewart McConachie saw his shot saved by Connor Wallace and cleared by Baptie . Nicholas Locke ended great play when sent through on goals but Ross again saved the visitors blushes . Broxburn continued to press and were creating chances . At the other end Jamie Winter headed over from a corner The same player on 28 minutes headed over again from another corner . Broxburn opened the scoring right after when NICHOLAS LOCKE was sent through on goals with everyone looking for a pass wide right to available Nimmo Nick looked up and fired into the bottom left hand corner to give his side the lead . Five minutes later a corner into the brought box was scrambled away from the danger area .On the counter attack again Broughty came close when Grant Lawson saw his shot well saved .Broughty were coming more into the game and Cavanagh made Wallace tip his free kick over the bar from 25 yards out .With half time approaching good play by the visitors down the right a ball into the box found Winters who saw Wallace turn his shot round the post .The continued pressure from the visitors paid off a minute before half time when a ball in to the box was not cleared properly and when Roy passed to STEWART McCONACHIE who fired home the equaliser .On the stroke of half time Kieron anderson set up Alexander Miller who saw his shot well saved .
The first chance after the break fell to Ryan Blair but he shot into the side netting . Just before the hour mark Locke saw a shot go just over .Broxburn had a spate of corners round the hour mark but could not produce a finish . They did take the lead a minute later when a hand ball was hotly disputed by the Broughty defence as it was the assistant who gave the penalty as the referee did not see the hand ball .(check facebook for cracking picture of the handball courtesy of Ian Cunningham ). ROSS NIMMO stepped up and hit the back of the net confidently . .Roy caused Wallace a problem when he got to the bye line and put a ball across the box which the keeper dropped but turned quickly to get the ball at the second attempt . Half way through the half Anderson fired in a free kick just wide right of the post . Ross had two great saves from Anderson and Locke before Wallace turned a Roy shot round the post at the other end .With quarter of an hour left JAMIE WINTER scored an equaliser after outrunning the defence to fire home . .The winning goal came with nine minutes left and was full of quality as Scott Richards passed the ball forward to the front line Locke and Miller combined to dummy the ball and the defence to allow KIERON ANDERSON a clear run on goal and he scored from 18 yards out .Broxburn were on top again and chances were created before the final whistle but no more scoring .

The visitors showed their intent early with a first minute free kick sent into Alexander Miller but his shot had no power and Kieron Renton saved easily . On five minutes Ross Nimmo shot over the bar from 25 yards out . Broxburn did have the ball in the net but Millers finished was ruled offside .The Burgh took control of the game there after and got the opener on 16 minutes a ball played inside to DECLAN O’KANE who made room for himself and shot into the bottom left hand corner wrong footing Connor Wallace from 25 yards out .Broxburn had a double chance with first Locke then Anderson seeing attempts on goal be blocked by the keeper and defender .Bradley Donaldson got down the right hand side and floated a ball to the back post but there were no takers and the ball went harmlessly away for a bye kick . With ten minutes of the half remaining Miller saw a header saved and then cleared away by the home defence . The same player got on the end of a good ball into the box from Anderson but his header was weak and the keeper saved easily . Sean Murphy was allowed to skip through the defence and his shot went over from 25 yards out .
Broxburn came out the traps first the second half when Locke put a great ball across the box from the right for the running Anderson but he failed to make connection and the chance was gone .The equaliser did come in three minutes when a ball into the box was challenged for by Donaldson and ALEXANDER MILLER got the final touch as he sent the ball high into the goals despite Kieron Renton desperately clawing at the ball but the assistant gave the goal as the ball had crossed the line despite the home club protest’s .Ten minutes into the second half and Broxburn took the lead .A free kick out left 30 yards out was left to KIERON ANDERSON who repeated the efforts of last week firing low into the bottom right hand corner with Renton no where near it .A minute later Spowart saw his header saved by Connor Wallace . Just after an hour and Connor Wallace saved again from Ewan Ralton . Spowart had a shot on 70 minutes that went just past the right hand post from the left hand side .On seventy two minutes a free kick into the box saw O’Kane head over the bar as he should have done better . Fifteen minutes left and Bryan Baptie took a quick free kick rolling the ball to Anderson on the left hand side but the later saw his shot shave the right hand post on the way past . It was Miller’s chance next and as he got to the bye line down the left he tried to turn the ball into the net from a difficult angle and it went past the far post with Anderson probably in a better position if the ball had been cut back to him . Miller created another two chances without counting .This could have backfired on the visitors as deep in injury time Matthu King had two goalden opportunities to level the game deep into injury time but failed to take either .

Broxburn showed their intent in the first minute when Nicholas Locke and Ross Nimmo played a neat one two before setting up Alexander Miller on the right hand side with the striker pulling his shot wide of the left hand post after a minute on the clock . Broxburn had a let off five minutes later when a header bounced high over the advancing Connor Wallace in goals and headed goalward but the big keeper managed to get back and scoop the ball off the line with Camelon claiming it had crossed the line but the assistant was well placed to judge .Miller dispossessed Morrison 40 yards out in the middle of the park he played it to Locke who gave him it back and the later saw his shot crash off the woodwork .Camelon could have taken the lead on 14 minutes when a corner to the back post found Stuart Bell who could not direct his header goalward and it went bye for a goal kick . Half way through the half Miller got on the end of a free kick but saw his header go go bye .Locke put a great ball into the box on 27 minutes with two defenders eventually dealing with the danger .Half an hour gone and Anderson sent Nimmo free down the right but David Kane in the visitors goal was equal to the cross and cut out the danger Andrew Kay was booked for disputing an offside call which would prove costly later in the game .Alan Sneddon made a chance out of nothing as he battled his way past two defenders but was thwarted by Wallace who had come out and blocked the striker in his stride and gathered the ball at the second attempt .With five minutes remaining Miller had a strong shout for a penalty dismissed by the referee and Broxburns strikers had two shots blocked there after as they pushed their advantage .In the last minute of the half loan signing from Peterhead showed he can strike a ball from a free kick but on this occasion it went past the near post into the side netting .
Broxburn took the lead after 52 minutes when Locke beat the offside to run free down the left and cross into the box where Kane spilled the ball and CRAIG SCOTT was on hand to fire home .Scott tried his luck from 30 yards out but Kane saved well at his near right hand post .The second goal came in spectacular fashion when the hosts were awarded a free kick 35 yards out wide on the left KIERON ANDERSON rifled a unstoppable strike into the top corner on 61minutes .Broxburn sealed the win on 75 minutes when Locke got free down the left and crossed to ALEXANDER MILLER who scored in of the right hand post .It was seven minutes later and Broxburn were running riot and Anderson put a great cross ball to Miller who was through on goal and scored in off STUART BELL who was accredited with the goal .with 6 minutes remaining Andrew Kay saw red with a second yellow for a foul on the half way line . ALEXANDER MILLER completed the scoring with a superb move of one touch passes with Locke and Miller combining before the striker got into the box and scored

A minutes silence was respectfully observed before the game in memory of past president and honary president George Black who passed away last week .
The early exchanges of this match produced little or none opportunities for either side . The first half chance fell to the hosts when Sean O’Neill got to the byeline but his cut back hit the side netting .On sixteen minutes Kieron Anderson forced a finger tip save over the bar from a free kick 30 yards out .Two minutes later Ross Nimmo made a great run down the right but his ball into the box was cut out by the retreating Kelty defence .The turning point of the game came after 20 minutes when A free kick to Broxburn was apparently not being taken from the right spot according to the assistant . As grant Gavin rolled the ball to the place he was told to take it from Sean O’Neill pounced and ran in on goals from the right Connor Wallace came out his box and collided with the player and was ordered off for preventing a goal scoring opportunity .Kieron Anderson made way for Shaun Donoghue to come on and keep goal . His first job was to save from the free kick which he did comfortably . Just after the half hour mark Garry Leighton put a good ball into the box but Donoghue saved well before O’Neill had the chance to get there .At the other end Ross Nimmo broke down the right but his ball into the box was defended well by the defence and the chance was gone . Alexander Miller had a couple of chances in the next few minutes first shooting past the post narrowly on the left hand side from the right then shooting past the right hand post from the left hand side .The hosts took the lead against the run of play when another long ball into the box found JORDYN SHEERIN clear eight yards out and he scored as he lost his balance on shooting .In the last minute Nimmo was thwarted at the second attempt as he tried to get the ball into the net .In the last minute of the half Archie Campbell got down the left but when he cut the ball across the box there were no takers .
At the start of the second half Campbell put a great ball into the box and Sheerin headed just over the bar . On 52 minutes Nicholas Locke broke clear and was fouled as he passed to Miller who’s run was impeded in the box but instead of a penalty the referee brought it back to the original foul on Locke .The resulting free kick was knocked out for a corner .When the corner was played in Gavin knocked the ball out to Craig Scott who sent the central defender through on goals and the big defender sent the ball over the bar . Just after the hour mark a corner played in to the bag post found Paterson who headed down at the post and Marley in the goals was managed to smother the ball and the chance was gone .A minute later at the other end O’Neill headed over the bar .Nicholas Locke went on a run forward
and was brought down by Leighton again .Moving into the final quarter of the match and a Nicholas locke free kick took a slight deflection on its way through to the Kelty keeper . Sheerin shot wildly over from twenty yards on 68 minutes . The second goal did come on 75 minutes when Leighton squared the ball to STEPHEN HUSBAND twelve yards out and he fired low into the bottom right hand corner .Broxburn still tried to get back in the game and Gribben fired a long ball through cross field for Locke to chase but Kyle Marley who had raced out his goals got there first and cleared for a throw in .Any chance Broxburn getting back into the game evaporated in the red mist with five minutes left . After a melee after a foul by Grant Gavin foul on Greig two players were yellow carded including Darren Gribben’s who the said something to the referee and she issued a straight red card for his comments .The game petered out after that and the players of Broxburn felt gutted their effort’s were not rewarded with something out of the game .All put in a shift and could have done no more .Next week home to Camelon and a chance to get back on the winning trail .

Broxburn took the game to their hosts from the off and did not let them settle on the heavy pitch . With three minutes gone Craig Scott sent Kieron Anderson down the left before he cut inside and fired a shot wide right .A minute later the visitors were awarded a penalty when a ball into the box for Ross Nimmo was awkwardly dealt with by two Boness defenders ,as the ball broke to the right hand side of the box Alexander Miller gave chase but was brought down before he got to the ball and was awarded a penalty .Kieron Anderson stepped up but saw his penalty saved and as he tried to score from the rebound the ball was blocked clear for a corner . The corner played in to the back post and after a couple of attempts it was GRANT GAVIN who got the final touch to hit the back of the net . Boness went on the attack straight from the restart and after a good move Robert Sloan tried from 25 yards out but Connor Wallace dealt with it comfortably .Eleven minutes gone and Connor Scullion made a tricky run down the left and fired a ball across the six yard box but there were no blue shirts to take advantage of a good ball in . Broxburn’s Nimmo set up Miller but the striker shot weekly past the left hand post .Half way through the half and the visitors were in control and great play by Anderson and Nimmo set up Nicholas Locke who shot disappointingly over .A minute later a long ball out from Wallace in the visitors goal sent Nimmo down the right hand side and he sent an inch perfect pass to his captain Locke who was through one on one with the keeper but his shot went narrowly past the left hand post. The captain had another good opportunity to double his sides lead a couple of minutes later but again shot wide of the target . It was Craig Scott who was next to try his luck but shot over .On 41 minutes Anderson made a great run and his goal bound shot was well saved and turned over the bar by Andrew Murphy .The corner into the box flashed across the six yard box but no one touched it and it went safely behind for a goal kick . The final minute of the half Boness should have got on level terms .A ball into the box was nodded on and Michael Gemmill was in on goals but Connor Wallace saved brilliantly to keep his side in front at the break .
Boness made a double substitution at the break and it was the hosts who created the first chance of the half when Fraser Eddington was sent through on goal but shot past the right hand post from 18 yards past the advancing keeper .On fifty minutes Jack Simpson saw a ball break to him from a corner but the full back had his shot blocked . Nine minutes into the half and a free kick into the box was knocked down to Ruari Maclennan who shot well over . Simpson made a great run into the box on 55 minutes as the hosts started to get back into the game , but saw his shot well saved and cleared by the visitors keeper . On the hour mark a great ball through saw Ross Philp get the best out of Connor Wallace as he saved well . Conor Scullion was next to find Wallace in inspired form to thwart the winger .Colin Strickland found space on 66 minutes on the edge of the box and his delicate chip towards goal came of the bar to the disappointment of the majority in the Newtown Park ground .With half the half gone Boness thought they had got back on level terms but Will Snowdon was adjudged to have been offside at the back post when he put the ball into the net .Broxburn Broke up the park on a counter attack with Nimmo through on the keeper from and anderson pass but Murphy saved bravely at the feet of the little striker .Anderson created a chance a minute later when turning inside from the left hand side and firing home a shot that Murphy parried into the air and Nicholas Locke could not get direction on his header as he saw it sail over the bar with the goal at his mercy . At the other end Eddington saw a shot deflected away from goals for a corner .The corner was played in and went across the six yard box with none of the Boness players in there getting a touch and the ball went harmlessly away for a bye kick . In the last Minute Darren Gribben set up Alexander Miller with a chance but the striker saw his shot saved . A good and deserved three points at a difficult venue was a good day at the office for all concerned a powerful first half and defensively tight the second half when Boness came more into the game produced a deserved victory .
