UNDER 20’S PROGRESS

The under 20’s notched up their  first win despite again being short of numbers . With the majority of the players back in the next couple of week’s it was  good to see them come back from a 2 goal deficit to win 3-2 . A morale boost no doubt with the win coming over a experienced Dunipace side .Their next friendly in the build up to the season which starts at the end of the month  is on Wednesday the 7th of August against Tynecastle with a 8pm kick off at the Albyn Park ..

UNDER 20’s

The under 20’s took on a experienced Pumpherston junior side and all though they lost 5-3 was a lot of positives that the fledgling team can take from these games as they build a squad to compete in the Development league .They will be playing again on Friday night at the Albyn Park 2nd of August with a 7-45pm kick off .

CROSSGATES V BROXBURN ATH

A welcome three points with a good performance over a good Crossgates side . Goals from Beesley (2) ,Donaldson and Kelly set up a good win before two very late goals took the shine of the result with their goals coming from Lewis Crosbie and Lewis Sawers with Crosbie accidently clashing with Connor Wallace as he slid the ball under the advancing keeper  and received a bad injury for which he went after the game to get checked out at hospital . We hope his injury is not as bad as it looks and he makes a speedy recovery .

KEYDRAW RESULT

This week’s keydraw was won by Martin c/o The Masonic Arms  who won £50 but failed to pick the correct key to open the jackpot box . Next week’s draw on Sunday the 4th of August will have a jackpot of £650 and 14 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box

BROXBURN ATH V BONESS UTD

A good game to open up the season with a draw probably a fair result ,but had we taken our chances we would have won comfortably but  despite a lot of the game the first half we only had a Andrew Gillen goal to show for our efforts . Boness came into the game the second half and got their equaliser through Ryan Stevenson   A lot of positives from the game today and hope we can take them into our next game away to Crossgates on Wednesday evening  the 31st of July with a 7-30pm kick off in the Premier league . (full report under matches on website )

CLYDEBANK V BROXBURN ATH

A disappointing result away to Clydebank who ran out 5-0 winners in a very impressive display . More game time in preparation for the season starting next week for the players and we are sure despite the disappointing pre season we will be ready once the serious matters begin .Two goals in the first half from Aaron Millar and Cameron McLair set them up for the win with further second half goals from Jordan Shelvey , Nicholas Little and Kyle Munro . Alexander Miller did have the ball in the net but was wrongly ruled out for being offside when it was 0-0 .

A good ninety minutes for both sides as the build up to next Saturday’s start of season with Alexander Miller cancelling out a early second half strike from the visitors John Batt  with a double  to open his account for the season .With all getting good game time was a good work out only down side was Greg Binnie’s injury that saw him getting checked for concussion at hospital after the game  . We now look forward to playing Clydebank at Holm Park on Saturday with a 2pm kick off
