CRAIGROYSTON V BROXBURN ATH

Another tough three points with a few scares along the way but the team came through and showed their strength during the game not to throw in the towel regroup and get the job done .It has been a sign that these players will fight to the end to get the result we all desire and get the job done . An early set back on 11 minutes from Tom Irving  was erased by a Shaun Harrison counter on 24 minutes . A better second half performance brought goals from Craig Scott and Gordon Donaldson and with it the three welcome points that keeps us on course for our target . Next week we have a respite from league duty with a League cup tie at Dunbar United with a 2-30pm kick off on the 6th of April .We will not be letting up our will to win and will treat cup ties the same as we have every other game .Hope to see you there .

This week’s key draw was won by Isobel McGuire c/o The Masonic Arms .She collected £50 but failed to pick the correct key to open the jackpot box . Next week’s draw on Sunday the 31st of March will have a jackpot of £700 with 13 keys left to choose from to open the jackpot box .

Broxburn Athletic v Coldstream

A passage into the next round was the target and that target was reached with two goals from Jack Beasley ,(4 goals in 2 games ) , We started well but after the goal a cracking free kick from Jack we saw the half out . When we got the second goal it was again a relief as Coldstream got a goal back right away through Substitute Stuart Briggs  .We went on to progress to the next round with an away tie at Tranent who beat Hill of Beath 1-0 today .

NEW SIGNING

Broxburn Ath have signed a new player after getting international clearance from Germany . We welcome him to the Albyn park and wish him well .

ST ANDREWS V BROXBURN ATHLETIC

With every other game off it was good to be playing at St Andrews on a park that was in remarkable good condition despite the weather .Two goals from Jack Beasley and one from Greg Binnie saw us go in comfortably at half time .When Paul Quinn headed past his own keeper from a Broxburn corner on 52 minutes the points were in the bag . Tough conditions in which every single player played their part in probably for overall our best performance for a wee while .The players determination, commitment and professionalism got us through a tough hurdle as we strive to bring the title to the Albyn Park . BROXBURNATH V STIRLING UNIVERSITY (eos)

6-1 scoreline  was hard work with the very strong wind blowing down albyn park in the Burn’s favour the first half . But it was Stirling University who opened the scoring after only three minutes through Calum Heath , but we fought back well and Alexander Miller double put us up 2-1 at half time .It was 3-1 on 74 minutes through Craig Scott and the same player eased the game in 84 minutes with a fourth before Nicholas Locke and Dominico Gibson got two late goals which probably the battling Uni boys did not deserve ,that’s football . We keep our 100% league record for the season and move on the road next week to St Andrews .A bus will be leaving the Albyn Park at 11-45am ,anyone wishing a seat should contact the committee as soon as possible .

KEYDRAW RESULT

BROXBURN ATH V DUNIPACE KING CUP 1ST ROUND

This weekends match was a comfortable victory over Dunipace in the King cup . This win gives us a second round home match on March the 23rd against either Dunbar United or Coldstream ,  who will play their first round tie on Tuesday evening the 6th of March . Good to see so many players get good game time with Greg Binnie grabbing himself a hat trick on his first 90 minutes for a while added to be a goal from Dominico Gibson will do his confidence no harm at all . Grant Gavin getting the last fifteen minutes to make his season debut was another plus .This shows how strong a squad we have mustered  this will be needed for the run in . There are no easy games in this grade anymore with every club seemingly improving as the season goes on . No team will be taken for granted as we have five tough league games and at least two cup ties left to keep the good work going .(full report on match in matches on website ). PS:- would like to thank everyone who donated in the donation buckets and this will be repeated next week at our home game against Stirling University (eos) , every penny is much appreciated and you have been very generous in giving ,THANK YOU VERY MUCH from all at Broxburn Athletic Football Club
