WHITEHILL WELFARE V BROXBURN ATHLETIC

Another excellent performance from the team tonight with goals from Liam Ireland , Greg Binnie and Cameron Ross answering a first half  opener from the hosts by Robert McKenzie . With players not getting a decent break and games coming thick and fast it is tribute to the full squad that they are stepping up to the plate and producing performances like tonight’s . Well done to all and keep up the good work the supporter’s appreciate the efforts being put in . We now concentrate on Saturday’s League match at Blackburn where we will be looking to keep up the good run .

KEYDRAW RESULT

Sunday’s Key draw was won by Colin Craik who won £50 but unfortunately for him , Agnes Provan who made the draw this week failed to pick out the key to open the the padlock on the jackpot box . Next week’s draw on Sunday 15th of August will have a jackpot of £500 with 17 keys left to pick from .Next week’s draw will be live on our Facebook page at 5pm . Would just like to Thank Agnes for giving up her time to help with this week’s draw .

TYNECASTLE V BROXBURN ATHLETIC

Going into this game we had to call on all our resources to get a result . The players did the colours well . Injuries are crippling us but the strength we have in depth has seen us through the past couple of weeks .The squad are raising the bar for their team mates to meet as competition will become fierce when all fit .  Another returnee , Gordon Donaldson made captain for the game put in a captain’s performance receiving the man of the match award  With goals from Ross Allum and Cammie Ross settling the game with Taylor Hendry getting one back before the break for the hosts . Broxburn could have added more to the score line had some of their many second half chances been turned in , but three points away from home in this league are very grateful . We now patch ourselves up and prepare for quick return to play on Tuesday evening away to Whitehill Welfare this time in the East of Scotland Qualifying cup 1st round with a 7.30pm kick off

KEYDRAW RESULT

This week’s Keydraw was won by Allan Russell c/o The Greentree who won £50 as Frank Greenan ,who helped with the draw today failed to pick the correct key to open the jackpot box . Next week’s jackpot will be £450 with 18 keys to pick from to open the jackpot box . We thank Frank for his time today and next week’s draw will be live on our Facebook page at 5pm  on Sunday the 8th of August 2021 .

BROXBURN ATH V NEWTONGRANGE STAR

Well if that was not value for money i do not know what is . So low after 20 minutes going down 3-0 then to score in the last minute to win the match 4-3 , what a roller coaster ride .  Goals from Ferguson , Peden and Smith had the visitors packing the three points in their kit bag to get ready to take home . Broxburn had other ideas and the mood of the visitors changed when Broxburn cut the deficit to one by the brake with goals from Nimmo and Purves . A thunderous strike half way through the second half  from Greenhill game the home side the desire to push for a winner with Newtongrange struggling to get back into the rhythm that so them race into a 3 goal lead . The pressure paid off for the home side when a Allum strike deep into injury time sealed the valuable three points back , that were in the Star locker room early doors .  We now have a rest from midweek games and have time to ease the week and get ready for the game next Saturday away to Tynecastle  in the league at Meggatland  Stadium in Edinburgh .

BROXBURN ATH V TRANENT

A disappointing result to a very good Tranent side  brought us back down to earth after the weekends win . We can not and will not feel sorry for ourselves and we will be ready for Newtongrange on Saturday at the Albyn . The first goal after a mix up at the back gave Sean Wringe an easy opener .they then got two more through Euan Greig and Mathew  Knox  before David Greenhill got one back with ten minutes to play . Sean Melvin was drafted in to our depleted defence and did very well and will see what the future holds on that .  Tickets will be on sale at the reception of the club on Thursday the 29th July between 6.30pm and 7.30pm for Saturdays home game against Newtongrange Star .

WHITEHILL WELFARE V BROXBURN ATHLETIC

A good three points on the board after a bad start to the season was the tonic we all needed . The boys were excellent in all departments and thoroughly deserved the win which could have been more emphatic had it not been for Ross Gilpin in the hosts goals . Two first half goals gave us the points with Cameron ross and a Blair Tolmie own goal settling the game .

DUNBAR UTD V BROXBURN ATH

A disappointing night in Dunbar  with a defeat going down 2-1 to the Seasiders . Dunbar took a 2-0 half time lead through Scott hay and Jamie Devlin . Ross Nimmo pulled one back on 55 minutes , but despite a determined effort the equaliser was not forth coming .A goal chalked off for offside at 2-1 may have changed the game but left the Broxburn camp bewildered at the time as the ball was cut back from the by-line . We are on our travels again to Rosewell to play Whitehill Welfare in the Premier league with a 2-30pm kick off . Tickets can be bought in advance on Their fanbase site . Protocols will be i place as usual and will be published before the weekend .
