Could all members of Friends of Broxburn Athletic please make themselves available at the Boness United match where we would like to get a group photo of all involved that can make it along .If you have not all ready joined it is easy to do so . If you can afford to, we are looking to supporters to open up a standing order with a minimum donation of £10 per month ( approx. £2 a week ) this fund goes straight into a  fund that has already  secured the transfers of players such as Kieron Anderson  etc . All money raised  goes to the team building and is much needed to help us stay in this competitive environment . UPDATE NEWS FROM “THE BROX”

Broxburn have signed three  young Livvy lions on loan the three are Gabriele Auriemma ,Cameron Fraser  and Darren Smith three good prospects for the future .Also signed this week to challenge Gary Maley for the number one spot is Gavin King who moved up here local from Lancashire and will be good competition for the gloves this season . On Saturday we managed to sign central defender Jack Blaikie from Spartans and we would like to thank them for their help in getting the lad cleared to play against Broughty Athletic .

 

ALL THE RESULTS FROM THE EAST REGION 15TH AUGUST

Broxburn fought back to win 2-1 in their first home match . Broughty took the lead late in the first half when Lawson was allowed to skip through the defence and his half hit effort squirmed past Gary Maley in the Broxburn goal . Broxburn kept it going and got one back on 85 minutes when Willems’s free kick from wide out right found Alexander  Miller whos header looped over the keeper to square the match . The second and winning goal was similiar as Young sent in a free kick it came out to Donaldson who lobbed the ball over the defence for Alexander Miller to run on to and send a identical header over the keeper and into the net

SEPTEMBER FIXTURES ISSUED

Broxburn Athletic have added two fixtures to their schedule in September  .On Saturday the 12th of September , we travel to league champions Kelty Hearts with a 2-30pm kick off in the McBookie superleague .The following week the 19th of September  we are at home to Camelon with a 2-30pm kick off in the McBookie superleague  . The following week is left open for Scottish junior cup 1st round which will be drawn on Thursday the 27th of August at Hampden .

BROXBURN DRAW AGAIN

Broxburn athletic gained another point away from home in a 0-0 draw at Fauldhouse Utd  .Fauldhouse had the better of the exchanges in the first half but the second half proved more even with both sides having chances to secure all the points pick of the second half was Gary Maley’s save in the last minute from substitute Mark Aitken

DISAPOINTING END TO PRE SEASON FIXTURES

Broxburn Lost 4-2 to Armadale Thistle in the last of a satisfactory pre season fixture list . Up 2-0 at half time through goals from Kieron Anderson and Alexander Miller they lost four goals in the second half from David Taylor ,Liam Gray , Darren Dalrymple and Andrew Thomson sealed an impressive come back .Not the best to sign off with but that’s what these games are for and the real deal starts next week at Penicuik .

ARMADALE FRIENDLY SWITCHED

Broxburn Athletic’s friendly with Armadale thistle has been switched to the Albyn park with a 2-30pm due to flooding at the Volunteer park home of Armadale Thistle (oh for summer football ) . £2  & £1 at the gate
