FIXTURE ARRANGEMENTS DUE TO WATERLOGGED PARKS

The league has decided that parks that have no chance of being playable on the Saturday , clubs  may on this occasion due to heavy rain fall in the area postpone matches on Friday afternoon to allow any possible change of fixture . We have in fact put in place a provisional fixture of Musselburgh Athletic v Broxburn Athletic in the McBookie Superleague  with a 1-45pm kick off should our game at Camelon and Musselburgh Ath’s match at Fauldhouse are postponed . This should be made clear by mid afternoon Friday the 8th of January . any decision will be posted on our media pages ie Facebook, twitter and our website .

FRASER KEAST

We can confirm tonight that an offer made to Broxburn Athletic for the player Fraser Keast  before Christmas by Boness United  has reluctantly been accepted . The paper work was rubber stamped this evening and we wish Fraser all the best in the future and hope he fulfils the promise shown in the red and white of Broxburn  .

NEW YEAR FIXTURE UPDATES

Happy new year to all as we get 2016 of to a flier starting with away to Camelon on Saturday 9th of January in the McBookie Superleague  1-45pm kick off . Saturday the 16th of January we are at home to Penicuik Athletic in the McBookie Superleague  with a 1-45pm kick off . On Saturday 23rd of January we travel to Boness United in the McBookie Superleague  with a 1-45pm kick off . Finally on Saturday the 30th of January we host Carnoustie Panmure in the 2nd round of the DJ LAING East of Scotland cup  with a 1-45pm kick off .

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas to all our supporter’s ,sponsors ,players and staff and also all of the Friends of Broxburn Athletic .Hope you all have a wonderful time and look forward to the new Year . We  have arranged two friendlies over the festive period on Monday the 28th of December we are at home to Edinburgh thistle hutchievale at the albyn park with a 7-30pm kick off . Next Monday the 4th of January we are away to Spartans from the East of Scotland league at Ainslie park  with a 7-30pm kick off .

NEWS AND RESULTS FROM THE EAST REGION SATURDAY 19TH DECEMBER

Goals a plenty in the Eat region McBookie leagues (unfortunately 6 were against us ) today . In the district and Premier leagues also goals were flying in ,87 goals in 21 games  .The only game that missed out was Fauldhouse united v Camelon that finished 0-0 . The top four in the Superleague remains the same as all four sides won ,Bonnyrigg ,Musselburgh , Boness  and Kelty . In the McBookie Premier league Dundonald Bluebell went into to poll position after a 3-1 win at Falkirk juniors . Jeanfield Swifts ,previous leaders ,drew 2-2 away to Forfar West end drop to second and third place Haddington drew with Armadale Thistle at home 1-1 . BLAIRGOWRIE joined Downfield at the top of the McBookie North District league with two games in hand after beating Glenrothes 4-3 at home .  Forfaar Albion at the bottom have still to register a point after a 7-2 home defeat to Lochee Harp . In the McBookie South district Tranent consolidated their place at the top with a 1-0 win at bottom club Stoneyburn  . Whitburn kept their promotion hopes alive with a 5-0 win at Pumpherston . In the ETHX ENERGY Scottish junior cup Arniston Rangers made the last spot of the 32 in the next round with a 2-1 win over Neilston  played at Tranent despite playing the last fifteen minutes with ten men .

EAST REGIONS RESULTS AND NEWS SATURDAY 12TH DECEMBER 2015

Bonnyrigg Rose went top of the McBookie Superleague with a 4-3 home win over Fauldhouse United  as Musselburgh were held 1-1 at Penicuik .Kelty edged out Carnoustie 3-2 at home to remain in the challenging group . Boness done their chances  no harm with a 2-0 win at Sauchie . Hill of Beath came from behind to beat Ardrossan 3-1 in the third round of the ETHX Scottish junior cup scoring all four goals in the process . Jeanfield Swifts went top of the McBookie Premier League with a fine 4-2 away win at Montrose Roselea  .Dundonald are in second with their game postponed today and Haddington sit in third place after 3-2 win at Dalkeith Thistle .Lochee utd are in fourth with a 3-1 home win over Forfar West End  with only two points separating the top four . Armadale thistle and Thornton Hibs both lost six goals today losing 6-2 to Edinburgh Utd and 6-1 to Kennoway Hearts respectively .Downfield went three points clear at the top of the North district McBookie league edging out Lochore  Welfare 5-4  at home .The two top teams in the South McBookie league both won  , Tranent winning 5-0 at home to Livingston and Blackburn Utd winning 3-1 at home to west Calder Utd in the only two games to beat the weather in the south .

Broxburn Athletic will play Linlithgow Rose at Prestonfield in the McBookie Superleague on Saturday the 12th of December with a 1-30pm kick off .Saturday the 19th of December see’s us finish the year with a home fixture against Bonnyrigg Rose with a 1-30pm kick off  in the McBookie Superleague . remember no official fixtures over the festive period with a restart date of January 9th 2016 .We do hope to play a couple of friendly matches on the festive break details to be revealed when organised .

GREIG TAYLOR

Greig has finally received clearance from China and flies out later this week to take up a coaching post with Manchester City at one of their academy’s over there .We wish Greig all the best in this appointment and venture and hope he becomes a huge success and goes with best wishes of all at the club . Max and Brian along with Ian and all the players  appreciate all the help he gave to the coaching and his input will be missed .
