We travelled to Perth on Saturday for a huge game against third place Jeanfield Swifts in the East of Scotland Premier Division.

Jeanfield Swifts lie in third in the East of Scotland Premier Division. In their last fixture, they lost 2-1 away to Sauchie last Tuesday evening.

Red and white shirts, white shorts and red and white socks. They start with a 4-4-2 formation.

A big Broxburn support has travelled up to Perth for what could be a huge day for Broxburn. As both teams emerge, there is a good atmosphere building.

Broxburn are first to threaten in the 4th minute. Ross Nimmo is in behind the Swifts backline from a long ball. Jeanfield defender Scott Mollison makes a great block to deny Nimmo.

In the early stages, Broxburn haven’t got going yet and Jeanfield Swifts are pressing well up the park which is causing Broxburn problems. Huge chance for a second for the Perth side on 18 minutes. Christopher Dodds corner finds Kieran Sweeney who heads over at the back post for Swifts.

Broxburn fly up the park a minute later, ball is fed through for Errol Douglas who is in on goal, his shot is saved by the Jeanfield keeper. First booking of the match comes on 21 minutes. Marky Munro is booked for fouling the Jeanfield number 10 Jordan Northcutt.

What a save by Bob Watt on 29 minutes. A superb cross from the right finds Scott Sutherland whose header is on target. Watt makes a great save to keep it at 1-0. Big talking point on 41 minutes. Gary Brass is fouled and the referee points to the penalty spot but changes his mind and calls it’s a free kick just outside the box. Locke’s effort from the free kick is blocked and on the rebound Turners effort is also blocked as Jeanfield get it away.

Next in the book is Jeanfield Swifts Gary Fergus for a late challenge on Lewis Turner on 41 minutes.

Conor Thomson comes close with a free kick on 42 minutes. His effort is just wide.

On 44 minutes, Ross Nimmo is booked for a challenge on Patrick Brown. Bit of pushing and shoving, but it’s all calmed down by referee Gamble.

Talk around Riverside Park is Musselburgh are losing against Luncarty and if things stay the same, Broxburn will be champions regardless.

An Errol Douglas header from a Connor Thomson cross is just wide on 71 minutes. On 72 minutes, Callum Heath shot from a corner is just wide.

GOAL! Its 1 each! It’s an own goal from the Jeanfield defender from a Gary Brass ball in.

Now its 1-1 at the Musselburgh vs Luncarty game which would still be enough to crown Broxburn champions.

Ross Nimmo has a chance on 83 minutes, but his effort has no power and is easily collected by the Jeanfield keeper.

On the 84th minute we hear that Musselburgh have taken the lead and Broxburn must score to win the league today.

What a save by Bob Watt on 89 minutes. Lewis Turner misses the ball, letting in Jordan Northcott, but Watt makes another crucial save and Broxburn clear.

Broxburn push to win and have chances. A Brass shot is saved and a Downie header at the back post is cleared of the line.

But it’s a share of the points and now it goes to Wednesday night when Jeanfield Swifts take on Musselburgh Athletic at Riverside Park. A Swifts win or a draw, would confirm Broxburn as champions.

We wish Jeanfield Swifts all the best for the season.
