SCOTTISH JUNIOR CUP DRAW

The first round of the Scottish Junior cup will take place on Tuesday 22nd of August at Hampden park 6-30pm . (sorry for wrong date in Saturday’s match day programme ).It is hoped to stream live on Broxburn Athletic’s Facebook page.

KEY DRAW RESULT

Richard Miller c/o The Masonic Arms won £50 in this week’s key draw but failed to pick the key to open the jackpot box . Next week’s draw on Sunday 27th will have a jackpot of £900 and 9 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box

Broxburn Ath v Kennoway Star Hearts

Not a good day to try play football with a strong wind blowing down the park it was proving difficult for both sides to get in to any rhythm . Going down 1-0 then getting into a 2-1 lead and looking good for the three points it was hard to take for a throw and a back heeler to give Kennoway Star Hearts a share of the points .Need to go and get three points next week at Sauchie .An Anderson free kick into the top corner and Miller goal were the scorers for the burn today

Broxburn Ath v Linlithgow Rose

A 1-0 win against Linlithgow rose was just deserved .After a drab first half, the game picked up the second half and Broxburn just shaded it and got their rewards with a late goal from Alexander Miller .Usual complaints about the park after a defeat from a club had lot of respect for but after match comments were unwarranted .On the Night the visitors through work and injury problems could not, like ourselves, put out a full strength side .To start blaming the surface after being down the previous day to try and book a regular training spot on the park is quite hypocritical .Accept it for what it was the better team won on the night and move on .

KEYDRAW RESULT

Last Sunday’s Key Draw was won by Stewart Forrest c/o The Greentree and he won £50 but failed to open the jackpot box .Next week’s draw on Sunday the 20th of August will have a jackpot of £850 with 10 keys left to pick from to open the jackpot box .

Carnoustie Panmure v Broxburn Ath

Not the start we had hoped for this season .was not expecting this start to the campaign very optimistic at the start and without making excuses with key players injured or unavailable it has been hard to take .We must stick together and get behind the side .The players are hurting as much as anyone of us and would appreciate support to get us through this tough time .A penalty equaliser from Darren Downie was followed by second and third goals from our hosts today with Kieran Anderson getting a late counter to narrow the gap but despite pushing for something out of the game The ten man of Carnoustie held out for the win .Tough game coming up on Wednesday at home to Linlithgow Rose with a 7-30pm kick off ,it would be good to get back on track after that one .

Bonnyrigg v Broxburn

A very good Bonnyrigg side put us to the sword this evening running out 3-0 winners after being 1-0 up at half time . Anderson had a good chance to equalise in the first half and we had some good spells but when competing with one of the league favourites you have to have a full compliment of players to have any chance .Need to lift ourselves for the trip to Carnoustie on Saturday as points even at this early stage are needed on the board .

OPENER V JEANFIELD SWIFTS

Not the start we had hoped for but with enforced injuries a draw was better than a defeat chances did go amiss none more so than a penalty miss by Anderson while the score was 1-0 from an Anderson 25 yard rocket Jeanfield equalised on the stroke of half time through Davies before Miller put us 2-1 up with 17 minutes remaining .The equaliser will be talked about all season when Jeanfield’s Scott gathered the long ball from his keeper twenty five yards out he hit it on the volley high into the roof of the net giving Wallace no chance.
