At the East Region AGM tonight the proposal for league reconstruction was defeated against the present set up .It was confirmed that with Kelty Hearts leaving the juniors Newtongrange Star would be playing in the Superleague next season and St Andrews also have another life as they will remain in the Premier league allowing the leagues to be the same numbers . Harthill Royal confirmed their renewed status by coming out of abeyance to play in the South District league this season . The season will start on Saturday the 5th of August and Superleague and Premier league will play two midweek matches there after on the 9th and 16th of August . The first round of the East of Scotland Cup will be played on Saturday the 2nd of September and the draw is listed below . Broxburn Athletic’s Jim Provan was confirmed as President of the region with Bathgate Thistle’s Robert Napier becoming Vice President of the region .
