With so much at stake ,it was no surprise both sides started cagily but the hosts opened the scoring in 10 minutes when a loose ball out f defence was picked up by Nicholas Locke who ran forward and when most thought he would strike he laid the ball off to his right to CONOR KELLY just inside the box and he took a touch before firing home the opener . Two minutes later a good ball into the home defence was headed goal ward by Taylor Hendry but Connor Wallace held comfortably . A long ball through on sixteen minutes found Alexander Miller but his shot went over the bar . A minute later at the other end Taylor Hendry saw a shot blocked and cleared . End to end stuff as Donaldson then put a great ball in from the left which found Miller’s head but it went over the bar . The second goal did come a minute later when Jack Beesley’s free kick in to the box from the left sailed over everybody and found ALEXANDER MILLER who steered his header across the goal into the far side of the net . On 27 minutes Miller weaved his way into the box before shooting wide of the target . A minute later a ball into the hosts box was met by Kenny O’Brien  who fired a shot towards goal the Connor Wallace had to be at his best to turn behind for a corner . Just after the half hour mark a good ball into the box found Shaun Harrison but he could not get any power or direction on his header as it went wide left of the target . With 36 minutes on the clock a free kick wide left about 30 yards out by Jordan Hopkinson went wide right of the target with Wallace having his goal covered .The game was still swinging from end to end and a great move from the home side saw Conor Kelly force a good save from Murray Jackson . The last chance of the half came when Gordon Donaldson crossed from the left but Kelly headed wide right .

In the first minute of the second half Conor Kelly made a good run down the left and his shot crashed off the corner of the bar and post .The rebound fell to Beesley who crossed to Miller who’s header was saved . Michael Barfoot shot over the bar on 48 minutes . On 53 minutes Euan Greig made room on the edge of the box but the full back shot over from 20 yards out . Craig Scott saw a shot go over the bar on the hour mark . Jordan Smith got into the box for the visitors but Wallace saved his shot . Half way through the half Miller thought he had added the third but despite a good move it was disallowed for offside . A couple of minutes later Broxburn hit the woodwork again and it was cleared for a corner . With 76 minutes gone Ross Nimmo put a great ball in to Miller who scooped the ball over the bar from eight yards . Craig Scott saw an effort deflected for a corner two minutes later .Greg Binnie sent a corner in from the left on 79 minutes that went past everybody and was cleared of the line at the back post by Barfoot . With the game petering out with four minutes left Locke  set up Miller who shot over Greg Binnie headed wide of the target from a Nimmo cross . In the last embers of the game Greg Binnie was through one on one with the keeper but Murray Jackson saved well to protect his goal . A comfortable win though Tynecastle had their moments .A place in the next round away to Girvan in three weeks reward for the win and one to look forward to .

In perfect conditions for football Camelon kicked off and after three minutes had the ball in the box but Gordon Donaldson headed clear .Three minutes later Cameron Ross got down the left before sending a good ball across the box but the defence cleared  the danger .The closest to a goal came after 20 minutes when Nicholas Locke fired in a shot from 25 yards but saw it crash off the cross bar and break to Beesley who’s pass into the box was met by Scott who’s effort was saved .Half way through the half a good run down the left by Miller finished with a good ball across the six yard box where Beesley cut it back again but this time Brian Kinnear cut it out and gathered . Ryan Kane had an effort blocked and cleared for the hosts on 36 minutes .Two minutes later Ryan Lochie put a good ball into the box and Allan Docherty flashed his header wide left of the target . Nicholas Locke fired a shot just wide right of the goal on 42 minutes .

The second half exploded into life a minute in when Camelon carved open the entire visiting side right down the middle before JORDAN HERRON fired home when clear in the box under the advancing Wallace .  Docherty hade a good effort go just wide on 55 minutes when coming in from the left shooting wide right . On the hour mark Craig Scott fired wide left from the right hand side . Three minutes later Docherty was thwarted by Purves at the near post at the expense of a corner . Cameron Ross tried an effort from 20 yards that was saved . Connor Wallace done well to save from Alan Sneddon turning the effort past the right hand post . Herron saw his ball into the box cleared by the visiting defence . Broxburn were on level terms half way through the second half when a good one two between Miller and Beesley saw the ball into the box met by the head of NICHOLAS LOCKE and was delighted to see the ball squirm through Brian Kinnear’s hands into the net . Level terms did not last long when a minute later a ball into the edge of the six yard box saw a melee of touches before DAVID MORRISON poked the ball home .  Jack Beesley shot wide two minutes later as the visitors tried to get back on level terms . With fourteen minutes remaining Cameron Ross set up Craig Scott who’s rocket stung the keeper’s fingers as he tipped it over the bar .  A minute later Ross again was the provider this time Miller headed over the bar . Broxburn were really pressing now and Donaldson set up Ross out on the left but his shot was saved . The pressure paid off on 83 when they were awarded a free kick just inside the Camelon half Michael Linton slid the ball to the unmarked CRAIG SCOTT forty yards out who looked up and fired a rocket into the roof of the net  . In the dying embers of the game both sides had chances . Donaldson saw a shot turned for a corner .The corner came in and Miller headed just over the bar with the keeper beaten . At the other end Sneddon headed just wide right and in injury time Tiwi Daramola fired in a shot that Connor Wallace done well to parrie clear . That was the end of the chances and probably on reflection a fair scoreline and result , all though both sides may have a claim for the three points . We now regroup and get prepared for our William Hill Scottish cup match at home to Tynecastle next Saturday with a 3-00pm kick off .

The first chance of the game came for the home side when a long free kick in from the right was knocked back to Ryan McDonald on the edge of the box but he fired his effort over the bar . On eight minutes a throw in from the left found Alexander Miller who made room but shot over the bar . A minute later at the other end a similar chance was created but Lewis Crosbie fired over the visitors goal . The opening goal came for the visitors in 13 minutes when Miller was fouled 25 yards out in the middle of the park .JACK BEESLEY stepped up and fired home the free kick in of the inside of the left hand post giving Henderson no chance of saving . On seventeen minutes Beesley burst down the right before crossing towards Nicholas Locke who’s header went over the bar The visitors doubled their lead on 19 minutes when Locke gathered the ball and slid a pass along the 18 yard box where JACK BEESLEY gathered the ball before firing home . Crossgates went on the attack from the restart and Wallace saved well from Crosbie at the expense of a corner . The corner came in and Scott Lawrie fired a shot that Wallace saved and held on to . On 26 minutes a free kick into the box  found Locke who shot over . Miller saw an effort deflected for a corner from 25 yards out . Lewis Crosbie was causing a regular threat and again Wallace done well to save from the Crossgates man . A good ball into the box found Nicholas Locke who’s attempt at goal was deflected for a corner . Ryan McDonald had the last effort on goal for the first half but his shot was deflected for a corner  that came to nothing .

The visitors Cameron Ross had an effort early in the second half but Henderson saved  comfortably . Broxburn increased their lead on 53 minutes when a long ball out from Wallace found Locke who sent Cameron Ross down the right and his cross was met at the back post by GORDON DONALDSON who headed past Henderson . Jack Beesley saw a cracking free kick head for the top left hand corner but Henderson tipped it round the post for a corner . With 65 minutes gone Shaun Harrison sent in a free kick from 30 yards out that went of the startled keeper for a corner . With 16 minutes remaining Alexander Miller left defenders in his wake as he cut into the box along the bye line , avoiding several tackles and he cut the ball across the box but the home defence cleared th ball from the danger area . Broxburn got their fourth on 76 minutes when Miller gathered the ball on the right and squared it into the middle of the box for CONNOR KELLY to fire home from eight yards .  The homesters got a goal back with three minutes left and the Crossgates forwards carved open the defence before passing to LEWIS CROSBIE  who slid the ball under the advancing keeper who accidently clashed with each other with the goalscorer  picking up a bad injury that saw him go to get checked out at hospital . Crossgates were not finished as they quickly got an other when a ball into the box caught the visiting defence with their eye off the ball before LEWIS SAWER fired home in injury time . Two late goals were disappointing to loose but a good performance and team work were there to see and we hope we can take this on to Saturday’s game at Camelon in the league with a 2-30pm kick off .

A good crowd anticipated a cracking opening game to the season saw a share of the spoils which was fair over the ninety minutes .Shaun Harrison fired in a free kick slightly from the right about thirty yards out but it went straight through to the keeper who grabbed it out the air comfortably on four minutes . Stuart Hunter put a good ball from the left into the back of the six yard area but Chris Townsley headed clear for a corner . Thomas Grant made room central about 25 yards out to fire a shot in that sailed over the bar . half way through the half a good break for the home side broke down when Conor Kelly’s pass out to Andrew Gillen on the right hand side was just too strong for his team mate and the ball went out for a throw in . On the half hour mark good play forced a corner for the home side . The opening goal came in bizarre fashion on 36 minutes , when ANDREW GILLEN gathered the ball out on the right touch line he hit his cross too close to the keeper but with everyone expecting Andrew Murphy to gather easily the big keeper let the ball go through his hands and drop over the line . Grant tried an effort on 42 minutes for the visitors but Connor Wallace had it well covered .

The first opportunity of the second half fell to the hosts when Craig Scott crossed in from the left but Alexander Miller could not get a direction on his header and it went over the bar .Conor Kelly put a ball into the box from the left on 51 minutes but was too strong and the ball sailed well wide of any team mate . A great opportunity for an equaliser came just past the hour mark when Ryan Stevenson cut a ball back into the middle of the box from left on the bye line but the Broxburn defence cleared the danger before any bones player got the chance to hit it . Nicholas Locke shot weakly past the right hand post on 62 minutes . Two minutes later Locke put a good ball in to Miller but the strikers header was saved . Boness thought they had scored on 66 minutes when a ball floated into the six yard box from the right found big defender Stuart Hunter to head home but he was adjudged to have been offside ,much to the annoyance of the visitors . Half way through the half and a ball played across the box sixteen yards out was struck by Mark McKenzie but he saw his shot deflect wide right of the target . The corner came in to the back of the box and was headed back across where Ryan Stevenson glanced his header wide right of the target . The visitors were on level terms on 73 minutes when a ball played into the box from the right was met by the fist of the keeper but unfortunately it fell to RYAN STEVENSON who fired through a crowded box into the net . Broxburn pressed on for a winner and Andrew Gillen set up Locke but his shot was blocked and it would not drop kindly for Miller who was ready to pounce .Ross Nimmo set up Craig Scott with a pass from the left along the edge of the 18 yard box but his shot went wide left of the goals . With five minutes remaining a good ball in from the right by Andrew Gillen was defended well and headed clear of the danger area . With time running out  a Ross Nimmo effort from 20 yards out and central was saved and cleared of the line . One more chance for Nimmo when Scott played him through down the left he tried to lob the advancing keeper but saw his attempt go over the bar .
