We returned to Albyn Park on Saturday, where we host St Andrews United in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup Third Round.
Broxburn Athletic are in their traditional home kits. Red and White shirts, white shorts and red and white socks. Visitors St Andrews are in all blue kits.
Broxburn Athletic make four changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Bonnyrigg Rose last Saturday in the Lowland League. In comes Bob Watt, Robbie Hamilton & Errol Douglas, who replace Jack McConnell, Chris O’ Kane and Greg Page. St Andrews United make two changes from last week’s 3-2 away win against Bo’ness Athletic. In comes David Maskrey & Lewis Craik who replaces Luke Murray & Cammy Graham.
St Andrews United created the first chance of the match on five minutes. Lewis Milne’s throw-in down the right flank finds Greig Spence who gets away from Jon Robertson and his cross finds Alex McReadie who skies his shot over the bar.
On seven minutes, Broxburn create their first half chance of the game. Ali Shrive plays a ball forward to Jamie Docherty whose eventual shot is over the bar.
GOAL! Broxburn take the lead. A Robbie McGale corner on the right finds Ali Shrive who scores at the front post. It took a while for the spectators to realise it was a goal, as it hit the bar behind the goal and out, no net movement at all. 1-0 Broxburn!

GOAL! St Andrews go up the other end and equalise! Alexander McReadie finds David Maskrey wide left whose cross picks out Ross Cunningham in acres of space. The St Andrews number eleven takes a touch and slots it past Bob Watt for 1-1.

GOAL! St Andrews take the lead a minute later. Ryan McManus with the chipped ball forward finds Lewis Milne, who gets to the ball before Broxburn keeper Bob Watt, takes it round him and scores into an empty net.

On thirty-two minutes, Jamie Docherty’s shot from distance is saved by St Andrews keeper Thomas Margretts. A cross by Scott McRory-Irving finds Errol Douglas who heads wide of the right-hand post on thirty-eight minutes.
On thirty-nine minutes, a shot by St Andrews skipper Ryan McManus is way wide from distance.
GOAL! Broxburn equalise! Jamie Docherty wins a hard 50/50 challenge and drives forward; he plays a good ball into the feet of Robbie Hamilton who scores low into the right corner.

St Andrews win the ball back from Broxburn from kick off and David Maskrey spots Bob Watt of his line and shoots from distance, his shot is over the bar.
GOAL! Broxburn take the lead. Marcus Lavery’s long ball finds Errol Douglas who chests it down for Jamie Docherty, whose flick forward is headed on by Robbie Hamilton back to the onrushing Douglas who heads it ahead of the St Andrews keeper and taps into an empty net.

Chance for St Andrews on fifty minutes, Greig Spence takes on Robbie McGale at the byline and drives towards goal. His shot is way over the bar.
GOAL! Broxburn have a fourth! Marcus Lavery’s deep cross from the left finds Robbie Hamilton who has time for a touch before burying it low into the left corner.

GOAL! 5-2 and a great goal by Broxburn. Marcus Lavery finds Jamie Docherty in his own half. The Broxburn winger drives forward, cuts inside and fires his shot past St Andrews United keeper Thomas Margetts into the left corner.

GOAL! Up the other end St Andrews pull one back. Scott McRory Irvings header back to Jon Robertson is intercepted by Lewis Milne who fires home from distance. Very good finish!

First booking of the day comes on fifty-nine minutes for St Andrews United skipper Ryan McManus, for a shirt pull on Scott McRory-Irving.
On sixty-one minutes, a shot by Broxburn’s Matty McDonald is just over the bar.

On seventy minutes, a shot by Alisdair Shrive is saved by St Andrews keeper Margetts, the ball deflects out to Errol Douglas whose shot is blocked by Ryan McManus with a great sliding tackle. GOAL! From the resulting corner taken by Robbie Hamilton, is headed home by Errol Douglas for his second of the afternoon.

GOAL! Broxburn score their seventh. Marcus Lavery wins possession and finds Luke Watkins, who drives forward down the left. Watkins finds Kyle Bell who plays in Matty McDonald. McDonald’s strike is blocked and is headed down by Luke Watkins back into the path of McDonald who takes a great touch before firing it into the right corner.

Double change for St Andrews United on seventy-six minutes. On comes Scott Clapperton & Anthony Gillan who replace Alex McReadie & Lewis Milne.
A cross by Robbie McGale from a short corner finds Robbie Hamilton whose header has no power and is easily held by St Andrews keeper Thomas Margetts.
Jon Robertson is booked on eighty-three minutes for a foul on St Andrews number 17 Scott Dunn.

Again, no poll this week. Felt it had to go to Robbie Hamilton, he was excellent today, with two goals and two assists in his first 90 minutes in months. Great to have such a vital player back for some big games.
