Celtic B (Home) Preview

This Saturday, we take on Celtic B in Lowland League action at Albyn Park.

Celtic B are managed by ex-Celtic and Aberdeen winger Jonny Hayes.

Players to watch for Celtic B include centre midfielder Samuel Isiguzo, centre forward pair Emmanuel Obidiwie and Filip Skorb and centre midfielder Sean McCardle.

Currently, Celtic B lie in eighth in the 2025/26 Lowland League, winning ten, drawing six and losing eight of their twenty-four fixtures.

 Celtic B went into the half time break two goals to the good, with Thomas Hatton & Sean McCardle getting on the scoresheet.

Cumbernauld Colts pulled a goal back in the second half, through Thomas Horn, scoring his first for the club.

On eleven minutes, Broxburn took the lead. Marcus Lavery plays a good through ball for the advanced Andy Rodden. The Broxburn left back is conceded for a corner by Celtic B captain Mitchell Robertson. GOAL! Broxburn take the lead! A deep corner by Andy Rodden is half cleared by Celtic, only as far as Jon Robertson whose header finds the left corner. Celtic B levelled two minutes later. Francis Turley finds Rhys Dargie who drives from the right past numerous Broxburn players before finding the right corner with his shot. We have a stoppage in play on twenty-eight minutes as Emmanuel Obiwide and Marcus Lavery collide heads unintentionally. Fortunately, both players can continue, but Broxburn are down to ten men as Marcus Lavery is cut open. Celtic B punish ten men Broxburn on thirty-one minutes and take the lead. Sean McCardle feeds in Rhys Dargie who slots his shot into the right corner leaving Mikey Andrews no chance.

Celtic add a third goal on fifty-five minutes.  A good through ball by Sean McCardle finds Rhys Dargie whose shot is saved by Mikey Andrews and hits of Andy Rodden and into his own net. Very unfortunate for the Broxburn left back. On seventy-six minutes, Broxburn are back in the game. A Broxburn cross is cleared by Celtic but referee Daly points for a free kick. Up steps Robbie Hamilton whose effort flies into the left corner. Broxburn threw everything at it, but Celtic B hung on for their first three points of the season.
