LAST GAME BETWEEN THE SIDES (Broxburn Athletic 2 Camelon 1)

(15/1/22) East of Scotland Premier League – Albyn Park-2.30pm

Broxburn Athletic Starting Eleven– Donaghue, Donaldson, Binnie, Harrison, Tait, Murray, Nicol, Greenhill, Brass, Nimmo and Fisher.

Camelon Starting Eleven– Welna, Sandison, McElduff, Fee, Sharp, Cowan, McArthur, McTaggart Sampson, Anderson & Stevenson

The visitors opened the scoring on twenty-three minutes, when a ball played across the box from the right-hand corner of the 18-yard box found Lewis McCarthur at the back post unmarked to nod the ball home.

The equaliser came on 50 minutes when a ball into the box had the visiting defence all at sea, quite apt for the Mariners, and Gary Brass was about to fire home from six yards when he was brought down. Greg Binnie stepped up to the spot and fired the spot kick home giving Jakub Welna no chance. The home side took the lead when Tait had a good shot blocked from the right and it fell kindly to Greg Binnie who fired home for his and his side’s second!
