Hearts B (Home) Preview

In our third game in six days, we take on Hearts B at Ainslie Park on Friday Night!

Hearts B are managed by Angus Beith. His coaching staff consist of coaches, Lee Wallace, David McNeil & Ross Ballantyne.

Players to watch for Hearts B include highly rated striker Connor Dow, centre midfielder Owen Muirhead and centre back Alfie Osbourne.

Currently, Hearts B lie in fourteenth position in the 25/26 Lowland League. Winning six, drawing seven and losing thirteen of their twenty six fixtures.

Lyon (GK), Wilson, Osbourne, Smith, Walker, Donkor, Wilson, Muirhead, Sanders, Mathie & Dow.

 Hearts B scored twice in the first half; with Jaedon Donker opened the scoring on ten minutes from an Owen Muirhead assist. Stanley Wilson scored the second goal on thirty-seven minutes.

Lucas Fyfe scored on the hour mark for Bo’ness United, but they couldn’t grab an equaliser and Hearts B took all three points.

Hearts B Starting Eleven– McDonald (GK), Smutek, Osbourne, Gillies, Dow, Plank, Glasgow, Radcliffe, Banks, Hogarth & Stevenson.

Hearts B took an early lead on thirteen minutes. Kai Smutek sends it long down the right. Mikey Andrews comes of his line and Greg Page doesn’t deal with the ball forward. Connor Dow nips in between them and stabs it home for the opening goal. Broxburn draw level on eighteen minutes.  Euan Glasgow fouls Jamie Docherty just outside the box on the left.  The free kick, taken by Jamie Docherty creates a scramble in the box, which Hearts only get half clear as far as Errol Douglas whose shot finds the bottom right corner. It was the visitors who regained the lead on thirty-two minutes. Gus Stevenson plays in Euan Glasgow who slots past keeper Andrews, putting the wee Jambos 2-1 up at the half time break.

Two minutes into the second half, Broxburn equalised.  A deep cross from the left by Marcus Lavery bounces in the box before Jon Robertson heads high into the net. Three minutes later, Broxburn take the lead. What a reaction by the Badgers. A long throw on the right is headed clear as far as Scott McRory Irving who on the volley finds the right corner from 25 yards. Hearts B get on level terms on eighty-two minutes. Kai Smutek finds Bobby McLuckie in plenty space. The Hearts winger drives forward and his shot hits of Jon Robertson and sends Mikey Andrews the wrong way.

Cumbernauld Colts (Home) Preview

This Tuesday we take on Cumbernauld Colts in the Lowland League Cup Quarter Final at Albyn Patk.

Cumbernauld Colts management team consist of Head Coach John Doyle, Coaches David Gormely and ex Broomhill gaffer Zander Diamond and Goalkeeping coach David Porter.

Players to watch for Cumbernauld Colts on Tuesday include, top scorer Josh Jack, attacking midfielder Josh Farquar and left back Liam Allison.

Currently, Cumbernauld Colts lie in tenth position in the Lowland League. Winning ten, drawing four and losing ten of their twenty-four fixtures this term so far.

Broun (GK), Fernie, Dickson, Home, Jack, Horn, McLaughlin, McEvoy, Devlin, Gillies & Hatfield.

 Celtic B went into the half time break two goals to the good, with Thomas Hatton & Sean McCardle getting on the scoresheet.

Cumbernauld Colts pulled a goal back in the second half, through Thomas Horn, scoring his first for the club.

(2/11/2025) Lowland League – Broadwood-3pm

Cumbernauld Colts Starting Eleven– Broun (GK), Fernie, Dickson, Moy, Allison, Jack, Walker, Mortimer, McLaughlin, Devlin & McGuigan

Broxburn Athletic Starting Eleven– McConnell (GK), McGale, Page, Lennon, Robertson, Douglas, Docherty, O’Kane, McCrory-Irving, Gormley & Bell.

The only game of the game came on forty-seven minutes.  Cumbernauld Colts are awarded a free kick in a dangerous position after Greg Page fouls Colt’s striker Finn McGuigan and is shown a yellow card, From the resulting free kick. Josh Jack finds the bottom right corner with a good strike, to give the Colts the lead, just on Half time.

Huge chance for a Broxburn equaliser on eighty-five minutes. A long ball forward by Gallagher Lennon finds Kyle Bell whose shot hits the post and the loose ball falls for Errol Douglas who fires his shot over the bar.

Not the best day for the Badgers, had a few chances, but never done enough to win the game.
