Locke went on a great run down the left in 23 minutes leaving defenders in his wake with his run being stopped by Mackay in the penalty box, there were home shouts for a penalty but the referee saw nothing amiss.

A couple of minutes later and Bremner made good ground down the right and firing over a cross which was well defended by Mackenzie at the expense of a corner. Campbell took the kick from the right but the Peebles defence stood strong and cleared.

Bremner played a neat ball wide to Locke who crossed the ball into the box but his effort was too near Coates in the Peebles goal.

On the half hour D.Nimmo played a cross field pass to Campbell on the left who made good ground but his cut back was poor with no red shirts in the vicinity of his pass.

In 38 minutes Campbell was brought down by Brown 25 yards from goal in a central position . Locke took the kick but his shot hit the Peebles wall.

Peebles then had a good spell in the Broxburn half gaining a corner off an overhit pass back. Lamb took the kick D.Nimmo headed clear, the ball was played back in which Page dealt with. Renwick picked the ball up on the left and cut inside and hit a shot which Watt had to watch carefully to save.
