TOM COWLEY MOVES ON

Another player leaving the Albyn Park is Tom Cowley who at the end of his contract will try and find a club closer to his Glasgow base . Tom was very popular in the dressing room and made 33 appearances for the club . We wish him well and thank him for his efforts while at the club .

NEXT SEASON UPDATE

With all the leagues now settled the following have now been confirmed for next seasons premier league . Tranent beating Darvel and St Cuthberts won them promotion to the Lowland league . This means that Lothianthistle hv will avoid being the 5th club relegated from the premier league  this season . Teams relegated were Whitehill Welfare , Camelon , Newtongrange Star  and Dunbar United . Promoted from the First Division Conference leagues are Haddington Athletic and Oakley United . Making up the sixteen are Vale of Leithen who are relegated from the Lowland league .

The Premier League will be made up of the following clubs

BLACKBURN UNITED , BROXBURN ATHLETIC , CROSSGATES PRIMROSE , DUNDONALD BLUEBELL ,  , HADDINGTON ATHLETIC,  HILL OF BEATH HAWTHORN , INVERKEITHING HILLFIELD SWIFTS, JEANFIELD SWIFTS , LINLITHGOW ROSE , LOTHIANTHISTLEHV , MUSSELBURGH ATHLETIC , OAKLEY UNITED , PENICUIK ATHLETIC , SAUCHIE , TYNECASTLE AND VALE OF LEITHEN .

MICHAEL BEAGLEY

Another player departing the Albyn is Michael Beagley who is destined for a SFL side after some excellent trials with clubs in recent months . Michael , a local lad , signed up for some experience after being released by Hearts at the turn of the year and was delighted to get on the score sheet in the 7-1 win over Fauldhouse Utd . His inclusion in the recent Scotland squads for internationals indicates the talent he has .We wish Michael all the best for what looks like a rosy future.

KEYDRAW RESULT

This week’s Keydraw was won by Samantha Montgomery from Uphall who won £50 as Alan Davidson who helped with the draw failed to pick the correct key to open the jackpot box . Next week’s draw on Sunday the 5th of June will have a jackpot of £650 with 15 keys left to open the jackpot box  and will be live on the Facebook page at 5pm . We thank Alan for his time today .

PLAYERS LEAVING THE ALBYN PARK

With the season now over we start planning for next season with players coming and going . Joe Tait will return to his parent club Spartans after his loan spell at the Albyn Park . Joe was a big success for such a young lad and has a bright future . We thank him for his efforts for us and wish him well with whatever road he ends up on in the future . Another loanee  is Andrew Mair who returns to Bonnyrigg Rose after his loan spell with us .  Andrew done very well for us despite his injury troubles and we thank him for his efforts in the red and white of Broxburn and wish him well for the future

Jackson Barker and Greg Nicol have chosen to leave the Albyn when their contract is up and we wish them well in there future exploits . Both players contributed to the effort this season and was appreciated their commitment to the club and we wish them well .

This week’s Keydraw was won by David Hope  from Winchburgh who collects £50 as Lewis who helped with the draw failed to pick the correct key to open the Jackpot Box . Next weeks draw on Sunday the 29th of May ,live on our Facebook page at usual time of 5pm will have a jackpot of £600 and 15 keys to pick from to open the jackpot box . We thank Lewis for his help with the draw  .

JOHNNY HUGHES

Just to let everybody know Johnny Hughes was admitted to hospital on Thursday . He appears to be doing well and all indications are he may be home before the weekend is over . We wish him a speedy recovery .

ALL OVER

Well that’s the season over and we will now add to the preparations for next season . Last night was not the way we would have chose to end the season but circumstances beyond our control or Whitehill Welfare’s for that matter  was there to see for all that attended , I shall say no more as anything else said may breech SFA protocols  . We as a club would like to thank everybody for their continued support the past season  and will be able to publish preparation and new signings in due course . This will be done on our social media pages and on here as soon as we are clear to do so . It has been a bumpy ride this season without making excuses we move on and we will endeavour to start on the 30th of July  when the season starts on the front foot  .Warm up games will be announced in the next few days and any news will be passed on to you quickly . In the meantime stay safe and see you all next season.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARDS

After Saturday’s match at home to Sauchie  we held our Player of the Year awards in the upstairs function hall . There was a presentation to the ladies who carry out duties voluntary for the hospitality and snack bars on match day . Helen , Myra , Jenny and Elizabeth all received a bottle of wine and bunch of flowers from the players . The awards themselves were made as follows . Young Lucas wanted to give a special player of the year award and he presented a bottle of bubbly to David Greenhill  .

   The management and players player of the year went to David Greenhill also.       ….. The committees player of the year was awarded to Daniel Nimmo.

The supporter’s player of the year was awarded to  Craig Newall .

We would like to thank everyone who turned up to the award ceremony and for the continued support to the club .
